Hotel Araiza Hermosillo — Hotel in Sonora

Arrived, reception clerk told me there was no King Size available, he wanted to give me a room with two twin size beds, I got upset, he gave me one with Queen size. He was rude none the less. Room was OK and clean, the AC is old and outdated window unit but it worked just fine. Pool looks nice. Went to check out dinner buffet did not look appealing took an Uber down to Mochomo's.||||I had reserved through my work's Egencia account with a breakfast ticket for two. Thought i'd treat my co-worker to it. Went to front desk to ask about it, but they did not respect my reservation meal for two, they said Guest reservation showed 1 guest. ||Of course I told them even showed them the Egencia app showed meal for two. They declined to offer said i could wait for their manager to arrive and take it up with manager. Anyhow encountered the same rudeness as I did at check-in. Buffet is not even half as good as Araiza in Mexicali and San Luis R.C.They had a few choices for main entree, but only fruits and packaged sweet bread for dessert. ||||I will try a different...

Most of the nicer hotels are not located in downtown Hermosillo, but a couple of miles away on a busy avenue. There are some very good restaurants in this area, but for some visitors it may be nicer to stay downtown where it's a little easier to get around without a car.||||My room here was clean and well appointed. I would have like the water to be hotter in the shower. But overall, I was very comfortable here.||||There is a pretty good sized pool, and a nice restaurant. They offer a nice buffet breakfast and also buffet lunch, as well as a la carte. I am not a buffet fan, but I especially enjoyed the lunch, which included a reasonably good salad bar, a delicious onion soup heavily seasoned with thyme, nice tostadas with picadillo, as well as other main dishes (including a tasteless but fresh tasting breaded fish), side dishes, and desserts (including a very good cajeta cake).||||It's easy to get downtown (or wherever) by taxi. And Hermosillo in general...

If I was able to pick another place I would have. The room was alright. It took a little long to check in. Wifi doesn’t work and if you log into it, it has poor connection. Also be careful while booking . Booked a junior suite three months in advance and then gave me some “excuse” and said because it wasn’t paid it’s nothing you can do. Got a room that just looked outside the parking lot. Would have hoped because of said situation would have been given a better room. So if you decide to book here be careful of making your reservation. During my issue about my reservation, they had told me they would have the manager call me back because he was in a meeting. Never did, waited a day and half before calling them back and asked why I had to call them for an issue that they were needed to resolve and at first they were hesitant to pass me to the manager.
