PUERTA AL VIRREINATO HOTEL BOUTIQUE & RESTAURANT — Hotel in State of Mexico

Me and my family booked a few rooms at this lovely inn for my cousin’s wedding, which took place at the church that was conveniently around the block. ||The service at this place was incredibly pleasant, from the girls who handle check ins and the concierge, to the cleaning staff who were so accommodating while we had so many family members rushing around to get ready for the festivities. ||The rooms have exquisite, old-world decor that is atmospheric but still super comfortable. ||There is a terrace on the ground floor that was a lovely meeting spot, and the roof-terrace restaurant offers some lovely sights of the nearby hills. ||Our one issue was that we were told that the restaurant would be open for breakfast at 9:00am if not slightly earlier, which was sadly inaccurate. The view is indeed stunning, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The ambience was terrible, and our dinner experience was marred by poorly prepared shrimps (not fresh). Despite its prime location, the atmosphere was lacking, with no music or efforts to improve it. Moreover, the limited staff, where one waiter doubled as a barman, led to a subpar dining experience.
