The property itself is nice and the rooms are comfortable. Most of the staff is very friendly and approachable. ||My real issue with this place is that they have a gym/pool area. It is locked for liability reasons because they had youth groups. My issue is that I had to call the front desk to open the gym pool area and it would take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes after calling from my room. I’d have to walk to the front desk to remind them. The worst part is that they lock you in and you have to call to be let out and the other day, I waited half to 10 minutes to be let out. I complained about it and I was told it would be better but the same issue this morning. My concern is in case of an emergency, can’t get out. There’s no exit. My timing to the gym is very limited and it’s ridiculous that I would have to allocate extra time to go in and out.||In addition, for lack of better words, it seems a bit ghetto that they don’t provide TV and AC remotes, blow dryers, or irons. You have to go to the front desk and leave an ID. This last time that I asked for a blow dryer I told the woman that I needed my ID so can she just make a note of it from my reservation, just seems ridiculous. I’ve never experienced that at another hotel. If the hotel has an issue with people stealing these items, they should have guests sign some thing that says if those items go missing there’s a charge.||Lastly, it would be nice to have mini fridges and washer/dryer...
Read moreThe hotel's interior design is truly beautiful. The ambiance of the arboretum and atrium areas lifts one's spirit. Courteous and professional staff. Room clean. Wifi good. Comfortable bed. The adjustable face mirror, with a magnification side, in the bathroom alcove was marvelous. Loved the open shelves in room instead of drawers, as this design prevents leaving things behind. There's a coffee maker, but neither a fridge nor a microwave. The lack of a fridge in a hotel room at this level is a real disappointment. I needed to use clothespins to close a gap in the window drapes for privacy. A lot of folks walk by the rooms, and unless I closed off my drapes entirely, I felt a lack of privacy, but if I closed off the drapes, I cut off the fresh air from the atrium. Echoing sounds of conversations from the atrium were a constant companion in my room because of the interior design's acoustical effects. Breakfast not included in stay. Wonderfully long desk in room, but outlet (which includes two USB-A ports) is only on one end, so guests either need to haul out a power strip with a longish cord to compete with the coffeemaker - or move the coffeemaker over to the sink counter. Regrettably, the lack of features that are important to me outweigh the...
Read moreIf you want to ruin your vacation or business trip at Toluca, please visit this hotel. Bad customer service at the reception, bad customer service at the restaurant when asking for ice and salt, they treat you like a thief. Just one access card which is basically difficult to work with if you forget it at your room. The food is not good if its not ordered directly to your room. Morning and afternoon buffets sometimes have food that has been sitting there for a while, you can know it because it gets dry. Security issues, as there was a man hitting a woman, screaming all around the corridor. The guy was knocking all doors from other guests looking for her. Well oh well.... and basically, when complaining to the reception lady she didnt care at all. She said the only time I can complain is when I fill the online survey when leaving the hotel. Or at 8 am when the "manager"...
