Real Inn Perinorte — Hotel in State of Mexico

I visited Mexico City for a business trip and my colleagues took care of my lodging needs. They put me up here. Initially the greeting was great, the front desk very helpful and the lobby welcoming and clean. My room was very large with windows from floor to ceiling and also very clean. I had a problem was the A/C wasn't working and after several calls, I found out they had turned all the A/C units off. Once they were turned back on, it still wasn't cooling the room and ended up with maintenance in to fix it. It still didn't cool well, but it was at least tolerable. That was very frustrating. They do not have ice machines available to the guests and you must take your ice bucket down to the bar to have them give you ice to have in your room. ||||The restaurant had good pricing and a nice selection of dishes. Their room service was quick to deliver. They had a fairly varied breakfast buffet but also had one "off" day. Limited selection and some terrible corn. The wait staff wasn't the most attentive, but all in all, it wasn't unbearable.||||I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel for an extended stay, but for a short business trip it...

This hotel has a friendly desk staff that provides good service and speaks English well. The restaurant staff is a little slow, with a bit more limited English, but still pretty good. The hotel is a solid business hotel, but nothing special. The rooms are good sized, with nice finishes, but could be a little cleaner. The breakfast buffet has a nice selection of traditional Mexican breakfast fare and the dinner selections also offer nice variety and are prepared fairly well. There is a kiosk that serves Starbucks coffee, small snacks and drinks. The rooms could use some more soundproofing. I have stayed on both sides of the hotel and it is very noisy. fine, but some traffic noise, but it is MEX. My room had a very bright traffic light outside, however the curtain blocked it completely. The bed was good. Big pillows and small.
