Real del Mar — Hotel in Veracruz

Important! This review is really only valid if you are coming to Veracruz for the quite insane Carnaval week! The Malecon area is a totally different place the rest of the year and I cannot speak to that.|This hotel gets its points because it may have the best parade-viewing private balconies on the entire parade route. They are big enough for a table and four chairs and the view is perfect.|That recommendation holds true only for the rooms across the front of the hotel, 301-309 and 401-409. Other rooms go down the sides of the building and the balconies are tiny.|Beds were good, shower fine, towels very thin. Soundproofing excellent, but don't expect ANYTHING to keep out the noise of Carnaval! You came for that experience; don't shortchange it by wasting...

overall it was a average hotel, good things beach crossing street, medium size pool, good customer service and attention, room need some improvements, bathroom door couldn't close easy, the shower head was oxidize (hotel should put attention to small details like this), refrigeration cover was damage and holding with a cord but working fine, location excellent very close to aquarium and con historic downtown, for the price is worth it, although management should fix small details, only the front rooms has great views to the sea, the other ones,...

Not worth the price at all Almost $50 usd, which is expensive if you consider the only saving point is the location and the pool Aside from that, staff is just plainly disrespectful, rooms are old and very small with not even the basics, you have to pay an extra for the parking which is totally stupid, defiantly not worth to stay here There are better places far cheaper with even more commodities They even dare to charge you for basic things like Shampoo and Soap, which most, or almost all hotels give away for free, jeez Totally...
