I went to Erg Chebbi with 9 of my friends in June. We had an amazing time. It was hands down the best part of our trip to Morocco. The desert nights and seeing all the stars was stunning. ||The campsite was beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfy. There were USB outlets for charging. There was wifi that covered the whole campsite. There were bathrooms in the tents. Naturally cloth does not insulate well so you could hear people in the bathroom of your tent but it did not bother us. The staff at the site were fun and hilarious. We got to meet Said and Ahmed who were very accommodating and absolutely awesome. In the evenings they would bring their instruments and play and sing with us around the camp fire. ||On our second evening we got to meet Moha, the owner of the camp site, who is exceptionally kind and generous. ||The dinner and breakfast was delicious and came in several courses. I highly recommend asking for their hareesa (hot sause), it was hands down the best hareesa I've ever had. ||The second morning they were able to make breakfast for us outside. It was beautiful. ||We did camel riding in the evening then watched the sun set. The camel ride is a leg work out, for sure, but regardless it was great. I would not recommend it if you are a little frail. ||The ride too and from the campsite on the 4x4s was great. Said and Moha gave us a show in the 4x4 and we were laughing the whole time. ||If we were ever to go back to the Sahara it would be to Erg Chebbi...
Read moreMy husband and I just spent 2 nights at Erg Chebbi Camp in Merzouga. We had a wonderful time in this little piece of Sahara paradise. Thanks to Mustafa, Moha, and Mohammed for their hospitality and generosity. The tent was very comfortable with a large king-size bed. However, I couldn't miss the opportunity to sleep outside under the stars - the weather at night was so pleasant - the team set up a bed for me just outside the tent. I spent a large part of the night star gazing and I had a wonderful sleep. The food was good and the service from Moha even better. It was my 50th birthday and the team had organised a birthday cake for me. It was just so sweet and thoughtful. It made me tear up. Mustafa took very good care of us during the day by driving us (by 4x4) to authentic Berber houses and families, the black desert, and the singing and dancing show of the black people of Morocco. He also found us a lovely resort where we could have lunch and spend the afternoon at the pool. There were many highlights but the biggest one would have to be the camel ride at sunset from the town to the camp. The ride was surprisingly very comfortable but mostly, you can't help but feel very peaceful when surrounded by the breathtaking dunes and the silence of the Sahara. "Tanmirt" (Thank You in Berber language) to the whole team who made our stay memorable. We will make sure to tell all our friends and family about you. Peace upon you....
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recently spent one night at Erg Chebbi and it was a once in a lifetime experience! We were both a little nervous about the 9 hour drive to and from the camp (we were staying in Marrakech) but our driver Moha made the experience super enjoyable! He was extremely friendly and polite and because he is originally from Merzouga he was able to tell us a lot about the desert and all the villages and towns we passed on the way - including historical sites etc. His English was also great and he spoke an additional 5 languages !! He was a joy! Once we got out to the desert we did one hour with the buggy on the sand dunes which was tons of fun! Our tour guide was great! The staff at camp were also amazing - extremely friendly, outgoing and willing to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as they could. We took camels out to the camp and caught the sunset and our tour guide took the most beautiful pictures of us! The food was great out there and the rooms were very comfortable. You will definitely NOT be roughing it - huge bed, warm shower, electricity to charge your devices and WiFi!!! If you’re ever in Morocco I would highly recommend you visit the Sahara Desert and 100% stay with Erg Chebbi - you won’t...
