The tents were very nice, the camp is a very cool place to stay and the food was good but I can’t look past the poor treatment of the two camels we rode two and from the camp (that we confirmed are owned by Nomade Life before writing this review).||The first camel had sores down the side of his neck and in the morning had fresh blood dripping down the back of his head that wasn’t there the day before. The second camel was clearly distressed as we rode to the camp and kept trying to stop and sit down while I was riding it. The camel guide was rough with it and kept tying it tighter to the camel in front with a piece of rope threaded through its nostrils that looked very painful. It kept making a wheezing noise and trying to pull its nose away and seemed like it was struggling to keep up. ||The man leading the camels was really rude to me on two occasions when he was asking me to climb onto the camel. It left my boyfriend and I really shocked the way we spoke to me.||Lastly, the camp is not exactly the remote and peaceful place it is portrayed - it was hard to see the stars even when we walked away from the camp because of the floodlights, and a loud generator was pumping from when we arrived in the afternoon to around 7pm, then again at 6:30am in the morning...
Read moreMy daughter tells me "glamping" the the right word for glamour camping. I'd read reviews of other camps and was prepared for a bit of "roughing" it, but this camp has extremely comfortable beds and a complete indoor bathroom in each tent (including shower) AND wi-fi. The food was very good (and varied, so if you didn't like some dishes there were plenty of other choices --a vegetarian could find enough). After dinner, there was entertainment - Berber-style singing and dancing. It's usually outdoors around a fire pit, but there had been rain earlier on our day so the singing took place indoors. (By the way, it was fun to be safe and warm in the tent with rain pounding on the roof--and also amazing after the rain was over to see the brilliance of the stars). You can get there by camel, but I'm old and chose to arrive by 4-wheel drive vehicle. I was afraid it would be noisy because we could hear the 4 women in the next tent very clearly, but they quieted down by 11:00 and then there was...
Read moreMy husband and I did the Tangier to Marrakech 4 day Tour.... Incredible, Beautiful, and Enlightening! Hamid was our driver. I can’t say enough about Hamid... friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable .. an all around gentle and kind soul. Ask for Hamid!|The camel ride to the camp was about 40-45 minutes at the most . The camp was amazing..we had a large tent, nicely decorated, hot shower.. all the amenities of a hotel, but with the added pleasure of being able to gaze at a star filled sky , while sitting by a fire, sipping wine( we brought our own supply😬), and listening to some of the staff play drums. We got up early the next morning to watch the sunrise before being provided a delicious breakfast. |Besides the camp, you see and learn about the the real Morocco while driving through small desert towns.|Be sure to bring cash to pay... no credit cards accepted!|Download WhatsApp on your phone.. it’s the best way to communicate and ask questions.|All staff...
