SUCH a shame, great potential if you change all the management. Lots of "men in black" style managers walking around in their suits & sunglasses, but what do they do ? We have stayed in the Medina before in a Riad but as this was our family Easter Holiday with young children for 9 days the area suited us well as we wanted to chill by the pool and relax, the pool was too cold to swim in, the overly load music by the pool is too much. The service is slow, everything takes ages to arrive and then you are generally missing something. For 3 days in a row they run out of coke, the breakfast is sub standard and should be covered as everything is covered with flies as it sits there. What hotel of any star rating has no in room tea/coffee facilities. We has a 3 bed suite which was of great size but uncomfortable beds, pillows well passed there use by date and we had to listen to thumping base music till gone 1am... And we had to ask for patio furniture. We massively overpaid on our daily pool tab as if you don't check it properly they add things in and as you only sign at the end of the day you generally have no idea when you are 6 people..And on Sundays they do a brunch buffet and charge you with out telling you... you are subjected to loud music, DJs and a lot of drunk people from outside the hotel. Christophe Leroy who is present every day not once had the manners to say hello, i tried to speak to him but got the i don't speak english thrown at me.... he is only bothered about the look of his restaurant and re arranging plant pots and tables... On the whole the food in the restaurant is good but expensive... room service menu poor and slow. If like us you have paid in full and can't cancel (i read the bad reviews 2 days before going) walk down the road and use Palais Medhi ... great hotel with a 20 euro day charge... great hotel and service better menu and cheaper... if you can...
Read moreDON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES!!! We booked this hotel through Avios and every promotional picture made us want to choose this hotel ... we were however very dissapointed to find this hotel very run down, fountains empty of water, lawn up to our knees, dirty & grubby sun loungers, the bathrooms were falling apart, old, hard towels a dribble of luke warm water and no plugs. No appliances, fridge, bar, coffee makers, crockery or cutlary etc in our kitchen, no free water as promised and when we asked if we could have dinner at a 8pm, we were told the kitchen was closed. Wifi didn't work in the rooms. We had children with us and needed to find some food for them ... we were then offered a choice of chicken salad or club sandwiches at 140DHS each. We ended up paying 1200 DHS (£95.00) for 2 salads, 2 club sandwiches, some french fries, 5 cans of lemonaide & 3 bottles of water!! They tried to charge us 1800DHS ... and to make matters worse this food was warm and stale - I couldn't even eat the salad as the chicken tasted like it was off. Their credit card machine wasn't working so we had to go by taxi to draw cash to pay the bill - and no receipts were issued. It is also very far out of town and very under staffed - it felt like we were the only people there. There are so many wonderful places to stay in Marrakech - this is no longer a 4 star hotel, don't stay here!! ||||It was our last night in Morocco and we wanted to show the children the Medina and then head back to the hotel before flying out the next morning... this was a very dissapointing ending to a...
Read moreI have never seen or experienced in my whole traveler experience a 5 star hotel with a phone number that doesn't work, a staff that never replies to your email and an ignorant/arrogant manager.||Can you believe that I tried to reach out to managers of this hotel through linkedin because I was hopeless for someone to answer my request. of course no replies.||I paid this hotel 100 dollars in addition to the bill so I can cancel my reservation 72 hours in advance and be reimbursed because I wasnt sure I was going to Marrakech. But to my complete dismay, they told me online that I wont be reimbursed. I tried to call the hotel, Zero answer! nobody what so ever, phone number not working, emails remained answered. I even called the group Christophe leroy that owns the hotel in France so they can give me a working number. So they give me an agency number that deals with reservation where the teleoperator starts yelling at me please..,yelling at me! telling me to call directly the hotel where nobody answered me! unbelievable. every time I get to talk to someone he through the ball to someone else. Where is the customer confort in this mess? nowhere? my problem is still unsolved! I am really really disappointed and I am going to make sure to let...
