Mandalay Lodge Hotel — Hotel in Mandalay District

We were recommended the Nwe Waddy Hotel when we landed at Mandalay Airport.It is easy to get to by bus for 4000 kyat or taxi for 15000 kyat.From the moment we arrived we were treated like Royalty.The staff were all very attentive and extremely friendly.They would really go that extra yard to accommodate your needs.They have the most amazing pool that in the morning has the sun and in the evening is shaded but is perfect for an evening dip.There is also a smaller pool that would be ideal for younger children and 2 jacuzzis!! There is a spa and a gym however being a new hotel these were not equipped while we were here. |The WiFi signal is strong throughout the hotel and we could even get a signal in the restaurant next door. Stayed here for 2 nights - room OK but bathroom dated and shower was either too hot or too cold. The pool is nice but busy traffic passing close (likely the same for many hotels in Mandalay?). Staff very friendly and helpful but I did find it difficult to communicate - I was looking for a nearby gym to use but somehow this was to tricky to explain and advise. The breakfast waiting staff were dressed in casual demin jackets and sweatshirts over their uniforms which confused me as whether they were staff or guests ? I couldn’t find the hotel listed as a GRAB taxi location which was annoying. Therefore...

Very professionally run hotel with courteous staff. The room was spacious, clean, with functioning modern conveniences. Our school party loved the swimming pool and gym, and the hotel staff were willing to make accommodations and adapt so that the kids could swim for longer, sing karaoke at the poolside, play chin long and be safe. Only slight criticism would be that the Wi-Fi was sometimes patchy in my room at the end of the corridor and there were cigarette butts on the balcony and at the poolside that were not cleaned up.
