Royal Diamond Hotel — Hotel in Mandalay District

Relatively cheap if compare to other hotels with this standard. Considering its location and accomodative staffs towards guests, a comfy bed, working hot shower & good breakfasts, this hotel in my opinion is one of the good place to stay that's worth the money in Mandalay.||As I entered and check-in at the reception, I was greeted with friendly & welcoming staffs. I was quite lucky when I visited this hotel because coincidently they were having promotion at much cheaper price which I then decided to stay for more than a week. I'm not entirely sure when or how often they have their discount promotion, but it's best to call them to find out more. Apart from the receptionist (both morning and night shifts), other staffs doesn't seems to speak that much English, so I had to communicate in Burmese with them instead.||The room that I stayed was on the 1st floor and the carpet and walkway was well maintain yet clean. The house keeping clean and vacuum them daily in the morning. House keeping was efficient, friendly and respectful fowards your privacy and needs, however at some of the floor there seems to have broken paints and some moist stains on the wall, presumably due to the rain season. Apart from that, their staffs would greet you whenever you entered and exit the hotel which is another positive point. You may request for a higher floor as you'll get a better city view but there's no elevator in this hotel.||This hotel is located just in front of Mandalay Diamond Plaza, a place so convenient to get almost every daily necessities and entertainment. From huge supermarket & amazing Season Bakery located at basement floor to jewelries at ground floor, from varieties of restaurants to clothing & professional saloon. There's also 2D & 3D Cinema at 5th floor as well.||Since it's located within the central Mandalay City, transportation and taxis are not an issue at all. Just know that most of the price quote by the taxis can be negotiated to reduce a little. The hotel does provide rental bicycles & motorbikes transportation as well. Train Station is also nearby roughly about 5-10 minutes away.||Dispite being located within the city, there's no loud traffic noises at night. The bed was very comfy, clean, all their facilities in the room worked properly & their buffet breakfast was quite satisfying. Most days they serves local fried noodles, fried rice, some vege or curry, soup and fruits, etc alternatively. Toast bread, eggs , coffee, tea and cordain drink are served daily. WiFi is also available in this hotel but most of the time is very slow.||One of the main good thing is that this hotel strictly prohibit guests from bring in any "Female Friend" outside into your room, if you know what I mean. So this place is very suitable for families with kids traveling with them. :)||Almost all the hotels that I've stayed in Myanmar gave terrible exchange rated at their reception. But lucky for you, there's a booth counter of the Local Bank Money Changer at the main entrance (Ground Floor) of Diamond Plaza opposite your hotel. Their exchange rates are very reasonable and will close around 4pm - 4.30pm so be sure to visit before that time if you're in need.||Overall, this is a great hotel considering the price which costs nearly as cheap as the price of a guest house but has the efficiency and quality of a proper local hotel, moreover their friendly polite staffs makes you feels very welcome. Not to mention it's location and convenience especially for family trips and budget...

This hotel is in central downtown (city). Close to markets, supermarkets, shopping, cinema, sightseeing and general life. The service in this hotel was excellent. Whenever I had an issue which was twice it was addressed and solved with understanding, respect and addressed immediately. The breakfast is basic western and traditional food with ample to eat. The room services were excellent. The rooms are large and clean and well equipped. Flat screen tv had many English movies. The internet worked well most of the time. Occasionally the weather caused a short blackout. The staff were always happy, addressed you every time you entered or exited the hotel. I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend...

We stayed only 1 night at this hotel. Great Location which is just behind of Diamond Plaza and some other shops and bike rental.||Everything was smooth but we asked room service to take back the tray out from our room and it didn't happened till we checked out. ||Staffs are mostly friendly but less in knowledge about their hotel which we asked like how much does it cost to rent motobike hourly and he doesn't even know they rent or not.||But they were really helpful apart from that and i didn't even think that much they were care too much earlier. ||And don't worry. you won't hear any city noise from the room even though you are in middle...
