Green Haven Hotel, Kalaw — Hotel in Taunggyi District

Very disappointed by this hotel. Hotel design is not bad but their service. While we stay here we don’t expect 5stars, we do expect basic accomodation. We booked 2 twin rooms through by phone. I’ve double confirmed before we came. The staff said booking is confirm by phone. When we arrived around 5 am, the guy staff said booking can’t be found. But lucky, there is new rooms side by side. We stayed 2 twin room.One room is no amenities, no one pairs of slipper, no refrigerator and we found out a cockroach.Wifi is available but totally can’t be used.☹️ In our last day, we asked for late check out at reception. The guy staff said we can stay until 6 pm with complimentary. So we don’t prepared our things. But we asked again when the check out date in the early morning. The lady staff said we can’t get late check out. And if we wants we need to pay for extra charges. I have no idea why all staffs is totally not good communication each others. When we already finished, we stopped our Alphard car infront of reception. The man who owned this hotel came by motorcycle in rush. And he crashed our car. It is not too serious, but he looked by angry face and he never apologized, he didn’t say even sorry. He ran away. So we felt really upset his behaviour. We said no wonder hotel owner behaviour like that. His staffs more worse than him. And then we asked to security guy, how can I get the owner contact number bcoz we wants to talk about our car problem. The security guy behaviour is awful. He said our hotel owner is busy all the time. He has no time to talk with somebody by phone. OMG!!!!||I will never stay again in this hotel and I won’t recommend to anybody who visits to...

Scenery around the hotel is refreshing and beautiful. Platforms outside hotel rooms are surrounded by several plants and flowers that smell nice when you walk by. Service is just fine. Breakfast is below average. However, cleanliness is one thing this hotel lacks. Rooms are old and the door and floor creak. Bedsheets don't seem clean to me and they didn't provide pillowcases until we ask for them. There was nothing inside minifridge. Bathrooms are the worst. Bathroom door lock isn't working so door bolt/barrel bolt is provided as an alternative. There are some dead flies on the bathroom floor while the flush handle was rusty. Also, shower curtain doesn't seem clean to me. There is only one showerhead for twins/double room. Water available for washing and bathing was yellowish while the room doesn't smell good. It's not that the air inside the hotel room is bad, it's just doesn't smell normal to me. As an OCD, I sat outside until it's time for bed. Outside air is really fresh. Overall, most of the rooms are really small. Only the corner rooms are spacious. I would recommend you to take a look inside the room and bathroom before you place booking. I really don't want to do this but I use Trip Advisor and rely on my fellow travellers honest reviews to guide me and I want to return the favour. This was probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The bathroom was appalling with damp and mildew and a cheap plastic shower curtain screening an odious toilet. In short it was disgusting. You may say what did I expect given the location and trip I was on; well better. Firstly the hotels web site uses the term 'superior double/twin room' to describe a cramped poorly furnished room which I would suggest is a little wide of the truth and secondly this is a business seeking mine and other similar persons money so at the very least they should make an effort to offer value for money and expect criticism when they don't deliver. The staff were all young, friendly but clearly inexperienced and chaotically organised. Breakfast came in fits and starts and towels in the room had to be asked for twice and still they did not arrive; however the capital crime committed here was the state of the toilets....
