Right, so this place has very attentive staff especially the owner who greets her guests every morning and makes herself available to tend to their needs. However her recommendations aren’t always the best or the most cost effective. For example she sent us to Jasmine Spa which I gave a bad review on Google Maps. Another one is to the Hot Air Balloon festival in Taunggyi where we shared a car with another guest only to get there 5 hours before the actually festivities start (reason was traffic would be bad if we left. On the other hand the nearby restaurant she sent us to on the day of our arrival was lovely (although quite expensive). The taxis or private cars she arranges are also almost double of what you can get from a local travel agent near the Central Market. We also didn’t book with her for the Inle Lake tour because of the prices of a private boat tour we used Mr Ling’s Shared Boat Tour instead). As far as activities are concerned, I didn’t feel like I had much choices staying there was happier with the options available elsewhere (which needed some legwork). But for the convenience, she can make your stay rather seamless if you’re not too fussy.
The rooms on the other hand are not designed for non-couples. Which is strange because bungalow were were in had two twin beds on either ends of the room. The bathroom and shower areas all have no doors and we had to repeatedly ask for them to put up a curtain (which they eventually did). Also the wall to the actual lavatory didn’t go all the way up... so can you imagine any unpleasant sounds and smells coming out from there while the other person is trying to rest? LOL So the bungalow isn’t for you if you’re shy with your room mate.
Breakfast service was amazing and it was so nice to sit under the shade of the thatched or wooden roof.
There were a couple other things that I didn’t mention here that were unpleasant. But those were quite personal and I don’t want to think about them any longer.
This place is far from perfect but if you like being told what to do by the proprietor and charged luxury prices for okayish experiences with a lot of convenience......
Read moreI have visit Inle lake for the first time this week on november. I am a korean. and I've been working 20 years as a hotelier.||I had very few information about this area before I went on a trip. and I just selected La Maison hotel as it has good location. this hotel is very convenient to approach jetty for boat trip of Inle lake and there are many tourist attractions near by such as restaurant. pagoda, massage shop, bar.||But there is another more important reason why you should stay at this hotel. I know a lot about the hotel's services because I have been working as a five-star hotelier for a long time. La Maison hotel is much more than I expected. Ms. EI EI and her team made my stay much more valuable and comfortable. They helped everything with a smile from beginning to end. I just regret not being able to stay longer. I can promise to stay at the La Maison Hotel next time if I travel here again, .||The room is very well maintained and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Most important of all is their smiles and attitude to help. I've also stayed two other hotels during this trip. So I can say with more confidence that the La Maison Hotel is really great. I would like to say thank you to Ms. EI EI and her team at La Maison Hotel for their efforts for my new experience. So I leave this message as soon as I come back...
