Stayed here for 3 nights in a huge bungalow room during the Taunggyi Fire Balloon Festival. Staff were friendly and communicative before arrival, and organised me a fair price transfer from Heho airport. They also sorted me out with a taxi up to Taunggyi, and later a boat ride on Inle Lake all at reasonable prices.||||The room itself was massive, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom arrangement was good, with a separate shower, toilet and sink. Water pressure was great, hot water was very hot. Bed was comfortable but on the firm side.||||Breakfast was good, the usual eggs, toast, juice, coffee and fruit arrangement in Myanmar. ||||Hotel location was great, a short 10 min stroll up to the market area and some good restaurants (though there were plenty around closer) and an easy walk down to the river jetty. ||||Wifi did not exist in the Bungalow, and although a strong signal was received in the reception area, the speed was turtle slow. I used my local SIM data instead, which was fine.||||Would definitely stay here again, thanks Win...
Read moreI have been staying at the Pyi Guesthouse for 3 nights in February 2019, such a delighful moment! The owner, Winwin and Tuntun are a great couple, with a lot to share : their knowledge of the region, their experience, ideas and so on. The hotel is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Beds are a bit firms and pillows are very soft, shower is nice. ||The "wow" effect goes especially to the breakfast : pancakes, toasts, eggs, fruits, fresh yoghurt and you can ask refill for the toast and so on (do not expect too much on the coffee, Myanmar is definitely not a coffee friendly country, but that's fine). ||Location of the hotel is very convenient, at a crossroad, the terrasse has an astonishing view. and for the services, well Winwin and Tuntun can do everything for you, from booking boat trips, horse ridings, flight or bus tickets.||||I took a few pictures of their rooms, you can check below! If you plan to stay in Nyang Swe, the Pyi...
Read moreI have traveled around Myanmar many times and have never found better budget accomodation. It has everything you could need; hot water, a great and endless breakfast, the perfect location and is run by a family that takes genuine interest in your stay and actively try to improve your visit. Although the rooms are basic (that is, no frills) the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are good (no shared bathrooms, which is a big plus). The guesthouse is run by Joe, who will help with anything you need, from boats to taxis, busses, day trips, trekking and even sourcing some authentic Shan green tea. He is the man. Could not...
