Mingalapar Ngapali GuestHouse — Hotel in Thandwe District

Another hotel with dishonest practices, unable to honor the engagement with booking.com. Unfortunately It is likely a custom in Burma. I booked several rooms for April, for me and my family on booking.com. My dates coincided with the festivities of the water festival , the New Year in Burma. When in this country people do not know how to anticipate, the hotel left the sale of its rooms on the booking sites. Then they woke up one month before and asked booking.com to cancel my reservation. Reason : the hotel is for the Burmese citizen only suddenly! When booked the rooms I had taken care to call them and they had certified me that there was no problem. They know that they can charge a night 3 to 4 times more expensive to Burmese people who are willing to pay a fortune a room in Ngapali at this period... so in summary: Dishonest hotel that can not anticipate and prefers to leave customers of booking.com in trouble and take more money from local customers. Shame on this...

I spent one week at Ngapali Beach and stayed at Mingalarpar Guest House. I booked a single room which was clean and sufficient. The family who own the Guest House are very accommodating and provide a safe place to stay. Rooms are cleaned daily by the ladies and breakfast is laid on. I particularly liked the fact that there is a bottle store next door where you can buy cheap cold beer after a long lazy day sunning and swimming on the beach. Be aware that you are in Ngapali for the beach and not to watch TV as there are non at the Guest House. Extremely nice and helpful owners who let us in at 4 am. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast buffet is really nice and the beach is just a two minute walk away.
