WEStay @ Chillax House - Ngapali — Hotel in Thandwe District

I have nothing but fabulous things to say about this hostel! I arrived early AM on a night bus from Yangon, and Myat (the manager) was warm and welcoming even at 5am! He allowed us to rest on the cushioned couches in the common area and on the balcony upstairs, and also allowed us to use the showers before checking in. I felt at home instantly. He gave us some recommendations on places to eat, and showed us how to get to the beach and was overall a wealth of knowledge! The hostel itself was super clean and modern. The showers were big and all had free soap in them. We were given towels, and the dorm rooms were spacious and clean. The bunk beds were big and high so you don't hit your head sitting on the bottom bunk, and each bunk had an outlet beside it as well as a locker for each bunk underneath the beds. The hostel itself is less than a 2 minute walk away from the beach on the main (only) street where lots of affordable food options can be found. The free breakfast was also amazing - pancakes, noodles, fried rice, bananas, drip coffee and tea as well as free water refills. I am celiac, so Myat made the breakfast with rice noodles I can eat and without the soy sauce just for me! Accommodation in general is more expensive in Ngapali Beach than in the cities, but between the friendly staff, delicious free breakfast and proximity to the beach and food options, I would 100% stay at WeStay @ Chillax House again! Let me make a list: friendly and good english speaking stuff. No misunderstanding about how much to pay or payed and where i booked - sometimes is an argument, booking or Agoda or they just dont want to find it... - so easy and fast. And did not need to pay in advance, was enough at the end! This is in this country also different and positive! very clean sanitair and lobby and rooms and restaurant. Very clean!Western bathroom with warm shower, with showergel and shampoo! Clean and modern toilet! rooms have very good airco, good temperature and good moqutie net so no disturb at night. And the beds and matrassen are high and very comfortable breakfast is excellent, choice of fried egg, fried rice or noodles, 2 kinds of fruit and REAL filter COFFEE, as much as you like with sugar, or honey and real milk - not that ugly condens stuff with sugar and lot of conserverings stuff..

I hope i told everything, so if you choose your hostel, i really recommend choose Chillay in Ngapali! Of course there is also many resort such as a Hilton in this area, but for a really good price/quality go for the Chillax...

Hostel looks really nice and they let me stay there, although it wasn't possible at first. Nice location, comfortable beds and good sanitary. Although, I was glad that no one was sleeping under me and that I chose the upper bed, because the bed makes a lot of noise and moves a lot while going in there. Also breakfast was disappointing: just some bananes and bread, not really worth going out for. And there was barely somewhere there, so I missed the socializing part of hostels a bit... Furthermore it's totally fine and looks good, just some things to improve, I think.

BTW, if you want to eat cheap, I can really recommend a place called 'Thar Thar' direction of the airport, I think about 700 metres, at the right sight, next to 'Smile' . It'1000-1500 for...
