We stayed at this hotel during Stage 2 of the COVID-19 restrictions.

First, the good: the location of the hotel is lovely and the views of Luderitz from the rooms are top-notch. There's a playground and a little beach. If you are leaving early for Kolmanskop they will provide a packed breakfast with enough food for lunch as well. The aquarium in the restaurant is a big hit with the kids. The room was comfortable, albeit small, and clean.

Now, for the not-so-good. Communication with the hotel before our stay was less-than-stellar and emails went unanswered. We specifically requested a room with a balcony, only to be given a room without a balcony because the balcony rooms couldn't accommodate 2 adults and a child, which they did not tell us in advance. The restaurant dinner menu was very limited and we had to send back the rock lobster because part of it was still frozen. I understand that it is necessary to make do under exceptional and difficult circumstances but I would not expect the service at the hotel to falter to this extent. Also, there were very few guests yet we all seemed to be staying the same part of the hotel, which resulted in far more noise than expected.

We did not feel that the services received matched the value paid and this was with a considerable discount due to COVID-19. Would we pay full price to stay...

We stayed 2 nights here while visiting Luderitz. ||The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much for them. The food in their restaurant was fantastic and some of the best food on our trip. The rooms we had were nice, clean and modern with great views of the ocean. The heated outdoor pool is a nice addition. ||Unfortunately the construction noise significantly let the hotel down during our 2 night stay. We knew this was happening as when we arrived there were signs stating it would only be between the hours of 10am to 5pm which is fine as most people including us would be out exploring so unaffected by it however, this was not the case. Our first breakfast at 7.30am - 8.15/30am all you could hear was banging in the kitchen while breakfast was happening. Likewise the construction in the rooms started before the 10am and went on passed the 5pm. What was more confusing was that the hotel was not full but both the rooms our family were given were right next to the construction zone. Personally given the size of the hotel and lack of capacity when we were there I would have put guests as far away from the suites undergoing construction to minimise noise disruption and paint fume smell during their stays. |We would definitely return and stay here again as long as we knew the construction...

I stayed there for a full week and u must say I had such a bad experience. One we came to dinner at 1900 and only got our dinner at 2100. Secondly my room was not cleaned on Monday only the bed was made the floor was swept and nothing else was touched. On Tuesday when I got back to the hotel I found the same thing, then I called the manager to complain and I had to leave my room so they clean it properly and when I returned the only thing that was different was that they took the dirty glasses and they had placed a cushion on the bed which they left on the side pedestal. I then called the manager to come and have a look her self. The bed looked so untidy like it was made up by am angry teen who didn't want to make the bed. The floor was dirty and so were the pedestals next to my bed. The ultimate one was when my friend ordered surf and turf and he stated over and over again that he is allergic to prawns and that they must not even place them on his plate he doesn't want them. When the food came it had prawns.

The food is horrible and the breakfast...

This is a nice place at the coast but unfortunately the prices are aimed at International tourists. Food is extremely expensive. Your evening buffet without drinks will cost You R700 for a couple. If You ad drinks and coffee in the end You will end up close to R1000 or more. As an frequent traveller locally and internationally this is extremely expensive. The rooms compared to other places we have stayed at during our holiday visit in Namibia and South Africa is ok but not wow. It is clean however. The view onto the sea is great. In the end You need to ask Yourself why You want to come to this place compared to other destinations and offered activities.
