We were a group of 4 and had lunch at the restaurant on 30 May 2024. We had a delicious meal and wine. The fish was so fresh and the service excellent. When in Luderitz this is a must to go restaurant.

When arriving back in Australia 6 weeks later we realised that a mistake was made with the bill. We were charged $13,800NAD instead of $1,380NAD. We were very disappointed that we were “ripped” off!! We made contact via text message with the restaurant and explained our problem.

The owner, Joel Fontes and his Manager Francisco Carvalho immediately knew about the problem but had no idea of how to get hold of us. The waitress accidentally added another zero which we as well missed on payment. Joel, being in Portugal, for an operation and Francisco jumped on the case and within a few days rectified the discrepancy and transferred the difference back into our Australia account. Wow….what honesty and the extra mile this company went to.

Business people like this absolutely need to be supported and their food is fantastic. You will not be...

We were still in Walvis Bay when we heard about Luderitz's wonderful Portuguese restaurant! When we travel, gastronomy is a very important factor for us and, as such, we choose a local food restaurant (and not from our country). However, after the various recommendations we received, we could not miss this place. And it couldn't have been better, it was "only" the best meal we had in our entire trip through Namibia. Portuguese flavors with fresh ingredients from the Namibian coast. We wanted to try several dishes but it was humanly impossible, so we were suggested the fish and seafood cataplana, which was delicious, with such fresh ingredients! We also ordered theriaky tuna, a house recipe, which is absolutely divine. The tuna is the best we've ever eaten, super fresh and tasty. Joel welcomed us as a family, shared with us wonderful tips about the country he chose to live his dream. It feels like home! What an enriching experience. Thanks for everything, we promise...

The Manager/Owner of this restaurant handled a big confusion for parking with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior toward Customers! We were a group of friends from VietNam and America to visit this town, then we were recommended by a hotel Manager about this place for dinner. Their Staff didn't give us clear instructions for parking back and forth almost 20 minutes. To the point my friend was confused and upset. The Manager did not show his good skill of management at all, but maybe he might be the owner of this restaurant, so he allowed himself to yell at us and asked us to leave even I told him this was a misunderstanding and big confusion, in which he should check with his Staff first, but he ignored. This was called one of the best in town??? Sorry, very disappointed!!! Extremely poor manner! But waitress was nice and friendly with us when some of us placing orders inside during the incident happening outside, one big...

Nice atmosfere you can watch sunset, just bring jacket if you visit on winter it gets cold after 19h. Beautiful place and we could listen to the owners speaking in Portuguese at the door. I'm Brazilian so I really like listening some familiar language. Food was simple an delicious oysters, fish. I wish I had more days in Luderitz so I could come back and check other dishes, great location near to most of hotels.

This is a must visit destination in Ludritz. We Loved the food, the staff are relaxed and helpful. Friday and Saturday evenings get busy so get there early. The Restaurant is very un-assuming from the road and parking area is something that shouldn't detract from the great service and World class food. They have a dedicated attitude to FRESH and they don't disappoint. We had the Poitjie Special...Amazing!!
