It takes about 40 minutes of trekking to get to this location but its definitely worth the effort! As soon as we reached, the host offered us fresh lemon juice. Then we went up to our rooms on the top floor and the view from there was simply stunning! There's a nice open terrace. The host was also okay with us flying our drone there. Next, the host prepared fresh lunch for us and we were surprised by the quality of food there! Everything was super delicious (even better than most places we had food in cities like pokhara and kathmandu) and the host and his family was super sweet! He pro actively offered to take our group photos which again was such a nice touch! Overall, we had such a nice experience that I would have given this 7 stars if possible. There was also free wifi available. During the night, the host had organized a bonfire which felt very cozy.
Only caveat is that you should equip yourself with good winter clothes as it can get very cold during winter nights and the host hasn't yet setup a heater. But they were very sweet and brought us hot water quite...
Read moreWhen we arrived in Ghandruk, the hotel owner, Sandesh Da, welcomed us warmly and even inquired if we had any luggage. We only had backpacks, so he kindly carried them from the bus park to the cottage. Upon arrival, he greeted us with refreshing lemonade. The rooms were impeccably clean, the beds were comfortable, and the view from the terrace was simply breathtaking, offering a clear sight of the entire Annapurna range.
Every meal, from the early morning breakfast to dinner, was delicious. The chef personally checked in with us each time to ensure everything was to our liking. Each night, a bonfire was arranged, bringing together guests from various countries and backgrounds. We would sit in a circle, sharing stories and experiences, which are moments I still cherish deeply.
The entire team, from Sandesh Da, his wife, their adorable baby, to the chef and a helpful young boy, was incredibly friendly and hospitable. Their warmth and hospitality were beyond priceless, yet the stay was more affordable than any other cottage...
Read moreOverall a very comfortable place to stay for our trekking, with beautiful views of the mountains and amazing food.
Lovely place in Ghandruk right on the path to Tobato. Great masala tea / chai, vegetarian thali dinner, and try the Nepali bread for breakfast with their breakfast set menu. Very delicious. (FYI some of these items I’m suggesting are moderately spicy, although they have plenty of non-spicy menu options). They are very accommodating hosts. The beds are soft and the pillows are AMAZING and many rooms have views of the mountains in the morning.
Like most places in the area they have solar-heated water for showers. No heating in the rooms but the comforters were very cozy and I woke up feeling very warm (early November). Western toilets. Some awkward latches on the doors/ windows. No shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms.
Most rooms seem to have one ?queen/double bed and one twin bed. Enough space to accommodate...
