Spent just one ridiculously cold night in this hotel. But I'm not complaining because you're in the Himalayas and you have no reasonable expectation of luxury or comfort.||I flew into Lukla for the experience of flying into Lukla Airport, one of the most unique airports anywhere in the world. I needed a place to stay for one night and this was right at the airport. (Actually, the whole town qualifies as "right at the airport!")||I couldn't get either electric blanket in my room to work. Maybe it was the blankets or the switches, but neither would go on, so it was an unbelievably cold night up there. I used the blankets from the other bed for a total of four and was still cold.||I also couldn't get any hot water to come out of the shower. There's a small gas heater in the shower, but I wasn't messing with buttons and so I ended up taking a quick, cold shower.||Not complaining, just giving you my experience. Keep in mind where you are!||Hotel apparently offered breakfast, but I had a 7am flight so I didn't have time to eat anything. When I went to checkout and return my key well before 7am, it took a while to get anyone's attention because the hotel front door is locked overnight.||Airport entrance is a flight of stairs away from the hotel.||Lukla is a unique experience. You won't go hungry, with lots of restaurant choices and coffee shops run by warm, kind, hospitable people.||This hotel was pretty basic, but it met my needs. Front door closes at 10pm, but Lukla shuts down well...

From the moment I arrived with my clients at Lukla Airport, I was greeted by Nima along with the lodge's attentive and friendly staff who ensured a smooth check-in process and made me feel instantly welcome. The lodge's cozy and comfortable accommodations provided a much-needed respite after a long journey. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The warm blankets and hot showers were particularly comforting in the chilly mountain climate. The lodge's location, nestled amidst the stunning Himalayan landscape, offered breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and awe. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals, catering to a variety of dietary preferences, and the hearty breakfast options provided an energy boost for the day's adventures. The lodge's staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and provided valuable insights, tips, and assistance in planning treks and exploring nearby attractions.    Read moreMy experience did not match most of the positive reviews. Sure, it's a convenient location right by the Lukla airport, with pretty mountain views. The younger brother was polite and helpful, however his older brother running the lodge was a rude and dishonest man based on my interaction with him. He told me they take credit cards, then said my VISA wasn't working and I should go to the ATM to withdraw money. I had no issues using my VISA anywhere in Nepal, including here in Lukla. Even verified with my cc company everything was ok and the rep told me they were not getting any transaction request from this merchant. Not only that, he tried overcharging me for items I never purchased and despite the younger brother confirming it was not correct the older brother was fussing. What a dishonest man! Also, be aware that not all rooms have bathrooms or showers. You have to pay additional for hot shower. Our room wasn't clean either. It was very dusty with bugs on the floor and the bedding was unfresh and smelly. The walls are paper thin so with the dogs barking all night I didn't get any sleep. To top it all off the place was out of electricity during our stay so our room didn't even have a light. We had to use personal flashlights. Based on my personal experience I do not...
