I stayed here for two nights in March 2015 – I am used to travel on a budget, and already had been in Nepal for two weeks, so was well used to the regular powercuts and lack of hot water. But all rooms I had so far were very clean and the service was very good. I thought I would treat myself with this more expensive hotel – it was easily 4 time sthe price of any oter place I stayed in during my trip. What a disappointment!||||First the positives: The room was spacious, and the aircon was working.||||The negatives:||- Staff both in the restaurant and at reception were not only unfriendly, but dismissive and could clearly not be bothered to smile or offer good service. For example – the dinner I had, I waited for my food for 1 hour, even for my drink I had to wait for ten minutes as staff was chatting to each other and clearly could not be bothered to pick up the bottle and pour me a drink. I had told them I would check out really and to prepare my bill, clearly that wasn’t done and I had to wait a good while until somebody could be bothered to check me out. Bill was much higher due to an extremely high service charge on drinks and food – which isn’t advertised on the menu and was totally unjustified as the service was very bad. I complained, and just got a shrug and a “You pay now” comment. Easily the most unfriendly people I met in my whole time in Nepal!||- The room was dated, slightly smelly – I assume due to the aircon it never gets aired. Both evenings I had no hot water, in the morning the water was about luke warm. The worst for me was though that both the bedsheets and the towels had bloodstains on them, even though they were washed it was rather disgusting.||||The biggest issue I have is with the price though, for the (non) service they offer and the shabby state of the room they are way overpriced with nearly $40 which is a...
Read moreWe stayed in Bamboo Resort just for one night. It was was our first choice but failed to book online. We had booked instead in another hotel which turned out to be too far from the Monastic area in Lumbini.||||The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and they helped us finally find a “working number” to the other hotel we booked at. They helped with calling the hotel several times and speaking in Nepali with the accountant to sort out the booking and they also kept our luggage till the end of the second day after we checked out. ||||The room we stayed in was spacious, clean. and contrary to many reviews here, the AC was actually working as well as hot water and internet.||||Thanks for the staff, our missed booking was retrieved and we had a...
Read moreHad been to this resort for one night with a group of 32 people. We were allotted 13 rooms. The property is very good and very close to Birth place of Lord Buddha. However, there is lack of maintenance on all fronts. Bathroom taps were clogged of most the rooms. ACs were working but no cooling at all in almost all rooms. They have shifted 3-4 rooms elsewhere but situation was similar. The staff was unnecessarily justifying lacuna rather to fix that. Our package was MAP. However, there were very limited options for food. Service standard is also So So. We had to wait for an hour for morning tea. Will not...
