Khushi Homestay — Hotel in Nagarjun Municipality

I needed a place to stay for one night in north western Kathmandu and how lucky was I to spend it at Khushi Homestay! As soon as I arrived, Kalpana showed me my room and private living room and kitchen, which was spacious, clean, and nicely furnished, and then also told me that I was now part of the family and was welcome to come hang out in the separate, but connected house that her family lives in - how welcoming! I definitely took advantage, got to know her lovely family a little, especially her very confident, considerate, and social 10 year old daughter, Khushi, who the homestay is named after and who speaks extremely good English! :)||||Kalpana provided delicious fresh cooked food and I later got to meet Ram, her husband who speaks very good English. He was nice enough to entertain me and we had a nice conversation!||||My one tip is if you are getting there by taxi and the driver is having trouble finding the house, tell them to go towards Panitenki. I'd been traveling around Asia for 1 month, and really desired to spend my last week in Nepal resting and relaxing. A friend informed me of a homestay that was affordable AND hospitable! He connected me with Kalpana and her husband Ram and they welcomed me as if they'd known me forever. For 300 Nepalese, the wife Kalpana cooked every night, and made sure that the food was plenty! The room I stayed in was clean and fresh, hot water was consistently available, and the Wifi was alive and functioning! More importantly, they were servants... I got sick with a fever and they took me to the hospital, waited on me, handled paperwork, and even bought me medicine all while their children were at home waiting for their return. This is more than a homestay it is a FAMILYstay. If you're visiting, expect to be taken care of and loved as if you belonged...

I´ve just spent a couple of weeks in Khushi Homestay in Kathmandú...||||The house is beautiful and offers excellent nicely decorated big rooms, spotless clean, airy, full of light and very well kept...||All this alone would already make it a great choice but what really makes the difference is how friendly and helpful the family running the Guest House is.
