The newly built Hilltop Restaurant and Guesthouse is the uppermost guesthouse in Sarangkot, located at the top of the steep stairs below the View Tower, and the walk is a slow 10 minute climb up from the paved road where the taxis park. The guesthouse has only four rooms. Because our group of family and friends needed 5 rooms, we booked all four rooms and I opted to stay at the next nearest guesthouse lower down. However, I spent all my time at the Hilltop Guesthouse, except for sleeping. | The rooms at Hilltop cost about the same price as I paid at the lower guesthouse, but the Hilltop rooms were much nicer, as well as the view area, which was the large porch directly in front of the rooms, and more panoramic. A very good breakfast is included. Both my partner and I had the feeling that the boy who said the initial price was telling the dodgy-looking guy to be fair with us, but still the dodgy-looking guy went ahead and scammed us with a smile on his face. We felt a intimidated by the appearance of the dodgy-looking guy, so we avoided confrontation and pay to get out of there. Pretty unpleasant...

I tend to be a bit slow in the morning, so he even came to my room to knock on the door to make sure I wouldn’t miss the sunrise. The viewpoint was right next to the hotel, which was so convenient. The room was spacious and clean. They gave me the room with the best view, so I could enjoy the beautiful scenery right from my room. The masala tea recommended by the owner was...
