Hotel High Ground Inn Sarangkot — Hotel in Pokhara

This place deserves all the praise it can get! My stay here has been the highlight of my entire trip to Nepal. Even though I still have a few days left on this journey, I’m certain nothing will surpass the experience I had here.

The credit for this unforgettable stay goes entirely to Bikas Ji, the incredible host and owner of this beautiful property in Sarangkot. In all my travels, I’ve never encountered a host as warm and accommodating. Bikas Ji truly went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary and memorable.

Due to a broken road leading to the hotel, our car couldn’t reach the property. However, Bikas Ji didn’t let this inconvenience dampen our spirits. He personally carried our heavy luggage on his scooter, making two trips to bring everything up to the hotel. He extended the same thoughtful gesture during our departure as well. Throughout our stay, both he and his wife took exceptional care of us.

The hotel itself was charming. While the rooms were a bit small, they were cozy and came with balconies offering breathtaking views of the valley and a side glimpse of the snow peaks. The terrace, however, was the true highlight. With its panoramic views, it was the perfect spot to relax with a cup of Masala Tea on a clear, sunny day.

The food was another standout feature. We had all our meals at the hotel, and every dish was exceptional. The Chicken Thakali was among the best I’ve ever had, and the Chicken Momos were absolutely delicious. Breakfast, though simple, was tasty and customized to our liking. I requested Fried Noodles instead of the usual bread, butter, and eggs, and they happily obliged. Even the coffee was delightful.

The rooms are beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and incredibly comfortable — especially the beds, which are some of the softest I’ve ever slept on.

We enjoyed our time staying at this guest house. The owner family members and staffs are very friendly and helpful. This place has good value for money. From the balcony of the room you can see the beautiful view of Pokhara, local people life , garden, birds,...They have good breakfast, fresh ginger tea and other teas you would like . A restaurant on the roof top is a nice spot to see the beautiful view surrounding as well. We had dinner there and it was nice and authentic.
