Our guide was wonderful! He took great care to make sure we learned a lot about the wildlife in the area, gave us tips for viewing wildlife, and made sure we got the most out of our experience.
I dropped one star because I had a bad experience with management at the last minute and another star for the quality of their food.
As I was walking to their van to catch a bus at 7am on my last morning there, a man I never met asked if I had any small bills for a cola. I asked what he meant and he stated I owed them for a cola I drank with lunch on my first day there. Since I had pre-paid for the excursion, I had no idea there were any extra fees and the waiter did not tell me there was a charge for the cola he offered. I would be happy to pay for a cola I drank but I had no small bills and they could not make change for what I had. The smallest I had was 500r. They could not accept that as payment! I could not believe this! I was getting on a bus to leave and they wanted me to find a place to get change so I could pay for a 75r cola that they never told me I owed them for. Why didn't they ever say anything about the cola? I ate six more meals there and they never said anything. I ordered a cola the second day and they said they didn't have any cola. They never brought me a bill. Never asked me to pay for anything. I turned to get in the van and there were five men standing there (including the waiter) like I was going to try to run away. This was the strangest thing I've ever experienced! Every place I've ever stayed has given a bill for any charges the last night of the stay. And the fact they wanted money but couldn't make change really ticked me off. This one thing will keep me from recommending them to friends.
Their food was not very good. It seemed they were trying to offer American style meals but weren't too sure how to do so. They served frozen mixed veggies (which I can make at home) with each meal, french fries that are soft and greasy, and rice or noodles. Very starchy meals. No flavor to veggies or pudding - both were very bland - nothing like Nepali food. The first night the pudding was super thick. The second night the pudding was runny. Nothing was consistent in the kitchen. Not even their ability to...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights and I would love to stay again. The room was clean, spacious, cozy and well-lit, with both an AC and a fan for when it gets hot, the WIFI was also good. Nice private outdoors terrace where u can chill and enjoy the birds and the sun. It has a big swimming pool, that you can enjoy to escape the heat, amazing gardens with different swings 😍 The location is close to the river, all restaurants, shops and cafés so you have everything handy. My favorite part is that since there is a big green area in front of the hotel, with a fence for the hotel, rhino's come at night to eat.. And the staff were super kind to knock our doors and inform us there is a rhino to watch 🤩 They guided us silently to watch the Rhino eating, from a place that has a fence so it was perfectly safe and an amazing experience ❤️ I never saw a wild rhino that close in my life, eating and just being normal :))
I highly recommend this place and I wish I got to stay longer.. So hopefully...
Read moreWe booked a trip to Everest Base Camp through Prime Himalayas, with plans to visit India in our way to Nepal. Last minute, India closed its borders, and we needed to fill more days in Nepal. Prakash was incredible! He arranged time for us in Pokhara and in Chitwan National Park. Everything was taken care of, from flights, transfers, hotels, private guides, most meals, and things couldn’t have gone better! Our Everest trek was the highlight! We had amazing guides and our accommodations exceeded our expectations!! Every stop, our group commented on how surprised we were after reading blogs and reviews from other travelers. We felt well cared for! A severe storm caused us to stay an extra night in Gorakshep, and Prakash made sure flights were changed and everything went smoothly. I would definitely book travel again though...
