Gorkha Hamlet Resort — Local services in Ratnanagar

Even zero star is not enough for this hotel.

The location of this resort is so good. The hotel looks good from outside. However, because of the owners lack of respect for guests and his non-caring attitude, the entire experience gets ruined.

We visited at a time when there were just us in the resort. Still they were not able to give us a good experience. First of all my travel agent booked a very bad room for us. After I created a ruckus, they moved us to a better room. However, the room was better only by looks. There was a bath tub in the bathroom occupying more than half the space. Still it was non operational. Dirty water was coming out of the tub. There was a dirty bucket kept just next to the commode. A pair of dirty old slippers were kept. No bathroom toiletries were provided.

Then we noticed that the flush was not working. When I complained, the owner Tamang shouted at me and said that I can checkout if I want. This is at 10pm at night, Mind it I am with family.

Don't try the food here. Many good options outside. We ordered paratha that was stale. Second day we ordered sandwich that was just too bland.

The resort with its location and design could have done so well. But not everyone knows about hospitality when they get into hospitality business. This is sad. One suggestion to the owners. Your business is because of guests. Nowadays everyone goes by guest reviews. If you don't approve, you will very soon have to close...

My night check-in got delayed and we arrived at around 12:40 am. The hotel gates were closed, even though we had informed the staff of the delay. We stood there banging for around half an hour before a sleepy eyed staff member let us in. I liked the cheery atmosphere they’ve created around the hotel, greenery everywhere; but that’s about it. The rooms were clean, but that’s one thing I witnessed everywhere I traveled further on in Nepal. A place may be devoid of any amenities, but it will always be clean, rest assured. Worst experience. We stayed here with a group having 10+ people. Washrooms were not proper. When we asked for room change they simply denied. Also they arranged an early morning jungle safari for us which was literally 30mins inside the jungle and 2.5hours outside the jungle. When we asked for justification the hotel manager Mr. Kumar behaved so rudely with an heated argument. They simply don't respect indian tourists and try to fool...
