Jungle Heaven Hotel And Cottage — Hotel in Thakurbaba

One of the highlights of our trip to Nepal was going to Bardia, a huge national park full of wildlife. The owner of Jungle Heaven met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel, stopping along the way to show us 2 types of crocodiles in the river. Then he and his wife sat with us in the garden and offered us cool drinks and appetizers. The rooms were very basic, but the food was perhaps the best we had in the country. The guide they hired for our jungle tour was top notch, and I'll never forget seeing a herd of wild elephants cross a river. Nor the rhino grazing absently in a field, or the many deer and birds the guide identified. For a place on the edge of a great wilderness, with only intermittent power, it's pretty nice. if you want to live in a peaceful and silent place, this hotel is for you. I spent there 9 days but planned only 5. it was very exciting to wake up each morning and hear voices of different birds around and look at the rice field. a nice gekko and 2 small spiders lived in a bathroom, we also became friends. if you're afraid of animals or insects, don't go to bardia at all :) this place is the border between wild nature and humanity, so it's full of different animals. the hotel provides tours in the national park and their guides are super good and experienced. food, internet, rooms - everything's ok. and the people are super-friendly and try to do their best. thank you, guys, for everything. hope to...

Very inconvenient experience!

I had booked 2 beds for my Nieces, myself and for a friend. Both the rooms were in super bad condition with molds, broken basin and very DIRTY TOILETS!

We felt like the staff were too tired to respond to anything so we waited for the owner to arrive! Finally he did arrive around 6ish and we wanted to ask few things along with the complains of bad basin and bad beds but this guy was so busy entertaining the westerners.

We asked for the menu, they did not give us any and when we asked for the price of each order they said its cheap nominal amount. But when we got the bill it added up to a lot of expense...
