We stayed 5 nights at Samsara and had an amazing experience. Raju & Santa helped arrange the trip before our arrival and they were both very helpful answering my (many!) questions so we were able to maximize our time in Bardiya and see as much variety as possible.||We are keen bird & wildlife watchers and had specific targets in mind in terms of wildlife we wanted to see. We had Santa as our guide for the whole time and he is one of the most skilled wildlife guides we have accompanied in all our travels tracking wildlife around the world. We went into Bardiya on four consecutive days on a jeep. The jeep days also included some walks at our request so we were able to have a mix of being on foot as well and searching for wildlife via the comfort of the jeep. ||Santa’s tracking ability was outstanding. Even during the sleepy part of the day he was as alert as ever, and his patience and keen eyes & ears put us onto a total of four tigers as well as a big male leopard, some of these views being very close and exciting! We saw plenty of other wildlife as well and many bird species. ||I highly recommend both Santa & Raju as experienced, professional birding and wildlife guides. Their lodge ‘Samsara’ is the cherry on the cake – excellent, comfortable accommodation surrounded by lush gardens with plenty of birdlife. Samsara Safari Camp is the perfect place to experience bardia in all it's authentic beauty. The camp is located around 10-min walk from the entrance of the park, the elephant breeding center, and the town center, where you can find handmade crafts and few ATMs. Samsara Camp is designed with nature conservation in mind, and the lush garden attracts many birds, butterflies and wildlife. While the Camp is quiet and peaceful, you'll have high-speed WiFi (27mbps), fresh food at good prices, mosquito nets, clean western toilets, and plenty of space to relax. Santa and Bishnu (the guides) are extremely experienced (nearly 30 years of experience as guides in bardia!) and can help with any kind of activity you'd prefer ( jungle walks, jeep safari, tree house night stay, and village walks). They also helped us with transport from ambassa to the lodge and from the lodge to the bus station. Special thanks to Santa: he is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, very patient, and he even took us on extra walks! He can also adapt the tour to what your goal is (seeing tigers vs birdwatching, for example). Overall, this place is amazing and it offers all you need to enjoy a true nature experience with a few comforts 😊. We were very sad to leave and can't wait to return to Samsara lodge.
