Due to work requirements early in the century, I lived in Lemmer off and on for nearly a year total, but never had to take advantage of any local hotels. Instead, I lived in rented condos near the marina. Ten years later I am visiting Lemmer again and now I need a hotel. Choices are limited, but of those you would be wise to select the Hotel Lemmer. Located on a canal at the edge of the business district in a beautifully restored building, it is close to town for easy access but still maintains a quiet neighborhood atmosphere.||||I managed to book a deluxe room on the top floor (2nd) and was quite pleased with the bright, open space. Next to the window is a pleasant sitting area, although you can’t really see the TV from that side of the room. The tiled bathroom is also spacious with both a bathtub and a shower. Channel selection on the flat screen TV is very good and Wi-Fi signal was good. Check-in was simple and as with most Dutch people the owner spoke excellent English. Breakfast was included and is served by a friendly staff in the large dining room. A big advantage is the hotel parking lot located just behind the hotel. Lemmer is very busy in the summer and it is comforting to know you don’t have to worry about where you can park.||||The Hotel Lemmer is an excellent choice for lodging in Lemmer. A quiet, comfortable building located close to town center with lots of parking and a friendly staff. Would...
Read moreThe hotel is split across three different buildings and I got the impression that all the buildings differ greatly!! Mum and I stayed as part of a cycling holiday, highly recommend this hotel for bike storing as there is a secure garage for you to use. We were in the 'out house' which does not have a lift - this is worth nothing if you have a heavy bag as the stairs are very steep!! ||The room itself was very small but perfectly comfortable. The bathroom was again very small and rather basic, however again it was pleasant enough. ||The main reception area of the hotel is very grand as is the room where you eat breakfast. Breakfast is served buffet style and is high quality with a wide range of options on offer. ||Easy access to Lemmer town centre where there are a whole host of...
Read moreHotel Lemmer is a beautiful hotel in a restored former mast-making workshop. I stayed here for one night on a cycling trip through the Netherlands. Hotel staff were easy to work with when I had to plan for a late check-in. The room was comfortable with all the expected amenities. The grounds are beautiful. ||I am still thinking about the included breakfast, which was one of the best I've ever seen in all my travels! I had a 60-mile bike ride ahead of me that day so I made full use of the delicious buffet, which is just as generous as pictured in photos here. I got to sample small portions of traditional Dutch foods like spekkoek and pannekoeken as well as fueling up for the day ahead. I highly...
