Homestead Villa Motel — Hotel in Invercargill City

We have booked here before and have had no issues but this time was a hudge let down. Booked the luxury suite with spa bath. Filled the bath up and it hadnt been washed out there was toilet paper floating around in the water with hair and other stuff, toilet had long hair on the back of the seat that was not ours. Went to get into bed and the bedsheets had not been changed it was full of pubic hairs. Staff were fast to react came up apologised and changed the bedding. Bed was hard and uncomfortable and could hear the people next to us and below us very loud and clearly. Could also hear the party goers at the pub across the road. When you pay for a luxury room you expect luxury this was not it was pretty disgusting. I wish i had taken pictures but was way to dissappointed and trying to keep my composure. Very nice place and a great price. The staff were friendly on arrival though it did take 5 minutes for them so come out to the reception.

The room we had was a one bedroom apartment upstairs and was tidy and warm. It was mostly clean except for a piece of old popcorn on the bathroom windowsill.

The room was fairly quiet even though the restaurant over the road was still very noisy at 10:30PM, was a bit of a pain when everyone left the restaurant and came back to their accommodation at 11pm they had to slam the doors.

There were lots of parking spaces when we arrived however after coming back at night there was only 1 spot left.

The garden out the back was nice though being winter, was not the most ideal time to be sitting outside!

Overall it was a good place to spend the night and wouldn’t mind staying...

Great value for money! We stayed the weekend before Christmas of 2020 with our 3 kids (12, 6 & 1) just for the one night. The room (2 bedroom unit) was HUGE! We got the room for $175 and you cannot beat it for value. The amenities were clean and tidy and the kids had fun in the spa bath in the bathroom. There were TV's in all of the rooms (lounge, and both bedrooms) which the kids also loved! We asked if they had a portacot during the booking process, and before we arrived the portacot had already been assembled, with blankets and sheets in our bedroom. Usually we stay at the higher end, more moderm motel/hotels, but this was unbelievable value for money and we already think we'll make time to stay here again!
