Edit: after making a complaint online I received a phone call apology and an offer for store credit. Here's hoping the next time I go I will have a better experience!
I'm quite disappointed with your Invercargill Avenal Store as I have some concerns over their quality control.
I don't normally make a complaint, but this isn't the first time I've been left dissatisfied from this particular store.
Tonight I ordered a large zinger ultimate burger meal. I was hoping things would indeed be ultimate. At $17.00 my expectations are high, but knowing I have wicked wings to look forward to is worth whatever it costs (please don't raise the prices).
Unfortunately as I reached for the usually tasty hot chips I was really let down. The chips were cold and tasted like rubber! Please bare in mind that i only paid for the large upgrade because I wanted the extra chips. To my surprise I found a second small bag of chips with my order, and these were delightful hot! Which made up for the cold rubber chips I had started to eat, however this left me even more dissatisfied because the bag was only small and soon ran out. I wanted large chips.
I pushed through to the zinger burger which was also cold. It tasted nice, but there was no zing because there was no heat. Again, quite disappointing.
At the end of the day, I'm glad I left my potato and gravy and wicked wings to the end. These were nice and hot (which added to the reminder that the rest of the food I was given was cold). While eating the incredible wicked wings, I even contemplated not writing a complaint because they tasted so good!
What's the secret to these wings? Are there some kind of secret herbs and spices in them that you aren't telling me about? Who can deny that wicked wings taste more heavenly than they do wicked! I'm getting married in December and I wonder if my fiancée would be willing to allow me to order wicked wings for all of my guests. Should I ask her?
Sadly despite my positive experience with those wicked wings, at the end of my meal I still had to throw out an entire large packet of chips because they really were not edible. The simple fact that I'm writing a complaint after eating those heavenly wicked wings just shows how disappointed I really am about those chips. I mean - your chips are normally so good!
All in all I really am dissatisfied after my dinner tonight. I would contemplate not returning ever, but I can't resist the wicked wings. Next time I plan on trying your other Invercargill store, even though it is a bit further for me to travel (We all know the wings are worth it).
My recommendation is that you send someone from your head office in Kentucky over to this store to check out the quality control to ensure that the standards are up to the scratch I've experienced at other stores in the past.

We had pulled up to pay for our order and had been served by this rude snotty tart, the eftpos machine was playing up n we'd said to her that the machine was playing up and that it wasn't doing anything when we inserted our eftpos card the machine said please wait.. So it took abit so we mentioned politely to the rude tart that was in the middle of serving us, she replied snotily 'well wait then.. I can't do anything I'm busy I don't have time to sort it'. then shut the window on us, so we took the card out n swiped it n then had to re insert it n then finally the eftpos machine excepted our transaction then snarkily the rude tart that served us opened the window to take the eftpos machine giving us dirty looks. To the chick that served us (cath b) You know its not hard to be nice and being that youv got a customer your obviously serving you should make a little time to help, it would've only taken the time that you'd said you didn't have time your busy and in the manner you said this as well, maybe you guys need to look at your customer service skills!! 3:05pm Sunday 22 Nov 2020. Me and my partner was the only people waiting to be served at the counter and were completely ignored by the seemingly oblivious and very overworked looking staff.
Another staff person walked in the front door and checked in on the order terminal directly in front of us - I thought we were finally about to be served, but then we were left in disbelief as he didn't even make eye contact, turned around and wandered off, came back, tapped the screen some more then stood there watching the kitchen.
Not so much as a "have you been served yet?" Or "Sorry, someone will be with you in a moment". Very poor service. We gave up and drove all the way to the south city KFC instead (who of course were also extremely slow and forgot our spoons and napkins).
I honestly don't see a future for this franchise if they consistently allow their stores to perform this poorly while competitor brands have made some real service improvements in recent years - will be selling off my Restaurant...
