Upon a brief return to New Plymouth to catch up with friends and family I booked my motorhome in here for 5 days from 2/9/24. Close to the Coastal Walkway and within cycling distance to all I wanted to see and do, I had that joy ripped away from me on 5/9/24 when the wheels were stolen off my e-bike-which was locked to the back of my motorhome- while I watched angrily from my upper rear window. Thumbs up to the local police who were on the scene very quickly, however a massive thumbs down to the FBHP owners/managers who never contacted me, called me or came to see how their guest was and/or how they could help. And No External Cameras? Within metres of a major walkway too. The overall security of this park was very slack and the attitude of the owners left me stunned. Thank goodness for great insurance cover and a brilliant local rep who had me sorted in no time. Definitely not...

This was our 4th time camping at Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park and it is our absolute favourite place to go on holiday. Jenn, Jan and the team at Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park are always welcoming, the sites are clean and very generous in size, bathrooms and showers excellent, kitchen always clean and tidy and the rubbish and recycling well laid out and emptied every single day. It is situated along the Coastal Walkway which we scootered every day, the beach is a mere 30 steps from where we camp and very close to the surf club for a coffee, snack or ice-cream on a hot day. Campground is for all ages and we love that it is dog friendly (we don't have pets but enjoy seeing everyone on holiday with their dogs). Everyone is respectful and friendly, it is a very safe campground and we will definitely be back. Don't miss the opportunity of experiencing this...

Discovered Fitzroy Beach several years ago, shortly after the adjacent Coastal Walkway had opened and promised ourselves we would go back one day.. We returned there last week to find the Park much as before, well presented, great situation by a perfect black sand beach, but the Walkway, formerly "the jewel in the crown" has been taken over by HOONS on motorised vehicles, all seemingly trying to break a speed record and terrorise the few brave souls still walking or using pedal power bicycles. Those remaining walkers deserve medals for their bravery. Sadly, until and unless something is done, we won't be back. HOONS screaming past between 2 and 4 in the morning is not acceptable. We love the Park itself, dog friendly is great although $10 a night extra for a quiet, well behaved companion is surely exorbitant. R.

My family and I (2 kids, 4y and 1y) stayed at fitzroy in the new cabin, January 2025. It was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Quick walk down the hill to the beach and the jumping pillow was so fun to play on! I think the only thing missing was soap for in the bathroom and our rubbish emptied but no biggie. Wonderful stay and location. Would stay again!
