Holdens Bay Holiday Park — Hotel in North Island

Overall had given this experience a 5-star review on Airbnb as I felt it had accomadated my family experience and made it a great Christmas to remember. There was some miscommunication regarding pets at the property as house rules on Airbnb state pets were allowed, which is exactly why I had screenshotted this information for back up (has since been changed on Airbnb). That saying I could have communicated to reception of our outside dogs that would be travelling with us, however there were multiple dogs on the campsite which is a little contradicting and therefore made us believe pets were ok. As for the 5-star review was being very generous as I wanted to be positive however the cleanliness would need improving. We went to Holden's Bay Holiday Park for a Family Holiday in Nov 23. We booked the 3 Self-Contained Family Rooms that sleep 6 in each room.|Very spacious Rooms with comfortable beds. Extra pillows & Blankets if needed. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to cook with. |Myself & my partner stayed in a 1 bedroom which had a bed in lounge. Very spacious Room with all the kitchen utensils, pots, plates etc. to cook in the room.|The Rooms had small fridges, but we were advised prior to trip, so we took chill bins for each room to store food. |BBQ area was so clean & BBQs were very clean too with utensils to use if needed.|Pool is cold. There is a heated small pool inside room by pool. |Volleyball net with balls to borrow at Reception. Staff were so helpful & information was clear to all. Highly recommend! This quiet little accommodation place sitting just outside Rotorua central is just what a visiting family ordered. No noise after 9pm! The spacious units are extremely tidy, and the grounds and facilities are very well maintained (I highly recommend a dip in the hot pools). There's a cute adventure playground just out the back of the first block of units and a stream running just behind that. The staff there made us feel very welcome and looked after, and they have a great wealth of knowledge when it comes to the tourist activities in Rotorua and surrounding areas. I mean they recommended exactly what we said we were looking for in such fine detail that we wouldn't have enjoyed our time if it wasn't for them. HBHP made all the difference to our visit to Rotorua and we'll be recommending it to everyone. We'll be back there next...
