​We had an absolutely fantastic experience with King Dragon Chinese last night. Despite being close to their closing time, the lovely lady working there was incredibly kind and made an exception, waiting for us to pick up our order. Her exceptional service really stood out. ​We ordered five different dishes, and every single one was delicious, but the wonton soup was truly the star of the show. We ordered the wonton soup and the black bean and beef. Portions were generous. However, the wonton soup had lots of wontons, but little else, and the "beef" dish was mostly vegetables. I found both dishes rather bland. At a minimum some Chinese chili sauce would have been appreciated. Also, I mentioned that we were visiting the area and were staying in a hotel, so we would appreciate an extra container so that we could share the meal. They charged $1 extra for a plastic container. For comparison, thee Indian takeaway next door provided an extra container and some hotsauce at no charge...

The best Chinese takeaways in Rotorua. I told my daughter I was going to the King Dragon, she told me I was crazy because it was the furtherest away from home. I'd rather do the drive and have a delicious meal. My favourite is the combination chow mein. The meat is super tender and a good amount, good combination of vegetables and the juice/sauce is so tasty I drink it. I treated the family to chow mein, chicken fried rice, bbq pork fried rice, beef in black bean and sweet and sour pork. Even my super fussy chef nephew agreed it was worth...
