Really good motel. Friendly staff. Cleanest motel I've ever stayed in, and I travel for work often! Can't stress just how spotless it was - WOW! Good prices including for long stays, and a well enough equipped unit for throwing together simple meals without having to pay for a full kitchen unit. Free laundry and drier is a big plus. As others have said, internet can be hit and miss - what nobody acknowledges in their reviews is just how poor the Taranaki region is generally for connectivity. As soon as you get more than a couple on the same connection, even if they are paying for the highest priority unlimited service, it's going to struggle. Even the 4g networks can be slow in Hāwera, so it isn't fair to give 4 or less stars for something the owners have zero influence over - the motel itself has plenty of transmitters and repeaters.
My only gripe at this location is being close to a roundabout on sh3 means trucks engine braking in the early morning can be mildly annoying - if you're a light sleeper I suggest requesting a room further back...
Read moreStayed two nights 3rd-5th January 2025. Friend and I booked a two bedroom unit. Really enjoyed. Quiet, spacious, and very clean; good beds; comfortable living/dining space; powerful shower; and kitchenette well equipped for making tea/coffee and own meals if required. We noted pets are allowed, which would be a big plus for pet owners. We were also offered Gold Card (seniors!) discount, which was appreciated! Our only issue was the wifi, which cut out at vital times while watching programmes on Sky TV! Overall a really good stay, close to restaurants/cafes, and would definitely stay there again if...
Read moreA friend and I traveled for a month in ew Zealand. We stayed in mostly highly ranked places. Kiwi Court was the only place we stay3d that was a “mom and pop” operation. The rooms were spacious and we each had a bedroom! and there were real wool blankets AND Electric blankets, which were greatly appreciated since it was quite cold there. The water heater did not work, the first morning, but the owner came immediately and fixed it. As I said, we stayed in many very nice hotels in NZ, but the Kiwi Court is the only one which really stuck...
