Mount View Motel — Hotel in North Island

😢: This was a disgusting experience. We expected our staff members to be there at 4pm, however they were delayed till 8pm as there was road closures and roadworks on the way. When they arrived at the motel, it was closed. The instructions stated to call a cellphone number which we did multiple times to no avail. In the end we had to book them at another motel as we could not gain access, as no details were left. I called the next day to organise a refund and was met with aggression from Christine, the owner of the motel who stated she had called and left a message with our staff members. I let her know that they did not receive the message, and this may have been because they were travelling through hills. She let me know she had left to visit her husband in hospital, which we were empathetic about, but she still had not left details at the motel as per the procedures they showed, and her phone was off, meaning we had to pay for alternative accommodation, after we had already paid through Bookings.com. The final straw was when trying to access the authority for a refund from her, she told us to F**k Off and go through to Booking.com to try to get a refund and hung up on us. 😊: This is the third time we have stayed here this year but this time we stayed for 4 nights. Room was comfortable for what we needed. Fresh towels each day. Kitchen well equipped. Love the shower. Comfortable considering we had 2 days of rain and one person was stuck in bed, ill. Good location and quiet.. 😢: The only real let down was the wifi connection which we understand was because of a storm the week before which meant a tower was out so motel not at fault but when you have 2 teens and a toddler all demanding internet it was really disappointing.
