Kat & Roger were great hosts & this was a lovely place to stay. Notes on my 1 night stay are included below:||- Roger is a professional architect & designed the B&B guest rooms himself. These are adjacent to the main house and are clean & comfortable with a patio out front. There were even welcome chocolates in the room! Koutu is only a 5 minute drive from Rotorua town centre. You park on the street & I was welcomed by a barking dog on the other side of the gate so security is good!||- I was made to feel super welcome & sat and had a nice long chat with Roger & Kat when I arrived & talked about my travels, where I was from etc. Their view of Lake Rotorua from their waterfront property would make many others jealous! They gave me some great tips on places to see - they recommended Hennessy’s Irish pub for dinner & Kuirau Park to see the free geothermal springs. I also got to meet their son & Rogers daughter.||- The breakfast is home cooked by Roger & Kat and you can choose off a menu - full English/American, Asian, Continental etc. The food was wonderful & Kat sat & chatted to me while I ate. I enjoyed getting to know her (she is originally from Malaysia) & learning more about the area & what it’s like to run a B&B||This was a very pleasant stay & a happy and memorable travel experience. I loved the chats & the homely atmosphere...
