Matahari Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in North Island

Since they are not taking our calls and the email address on their website is now bouncing, I am putting this here as a warning to others. I booked on Matahari's website for the 2 bedroom apartment and 3 bedroom villa which were both available for the dates I selected. After completing the online booking form, I recieved a message that confirmation will be provided within 24hours. No confirmation email was provided and after waiting 2 days, we called them directly to check. We were told that the booking was confirmed and an email would be sent shortly with confirmation. Soon after we received an email saying there is no availability of rooms. Why tell someone a booking is confirmed if its not. They have also taken a preauthorisation on my visa card which should not have happened if the rooms were not available at the time of my booking. Hope this does not...

Unfortunately we only had a one night stay at this motel as it is definetly worth staying longer. We had a one bedroom unit that really felt like a small home.There was a large flat screen tv in the living room and a washing machine in the kitchen which is great if you have to do a load of laundry.There is no dryer though so you will have to dry the clothes in the bathroom or drape them across the garden furniture out back. The furniture of our unit was above average as was the sleep quality of the bed (nice linens). Nice bathroom as well. Service from the front desk was friendly and very efficient. There is easy parking directly in front of the units. WiFi was free but the speed was insufficient to stream movies.There are also a number of restaurants in walking distance. Highly...

This place is amazing it’s a home away from home with all the comforts of being at home facilities modern and clean and well maintained . I quiet often stay here thru work and as always it’s enjoyable and comfortable it’s always a great distraction from living out of a suit case and I’m always looking forward to my next trip down. The hosts are very welcoming and kind always a welcoming smile and up for a friendly chat and always going beyond the port of call to make your stay that much better....
