We were pleasantly surprised with this motel. This motel was not our preferred choice, but we are really glad to have stayed there, and would stay there again.||||The rooms are dated, but this is Antique town New Zealand, so the rooms work well with the town's theme. The staff are really friendly and really helpful. ||||We had a pleasant stay, but not a completely peaceful stay. The motel is situated along the main highway, and there's no sound proofing. So, we got woken up 5:30 every morning due to the heavy trucks traveling along the highway.||||The rooms have no AC and Paeroa as we found out can get very hot in summer (e.g. at least 30 degrees C). ||||The motel is walking distance from the shops. Directly across the road from the motel is a large playing field and...
Read moreLet's start with the good points ...||||Room was clean||Bed was comfortable||New carpet||||Negative points ...||||No hot water, ran the shower for 10minutes, no hot water, had a cold shower! Nasty! The pressure was good but watch out for the shower curtain sticking to ya!||||There was no 'new' soap in the shower, we found a used piece of soap with hair stuck to it, gross. Luckily we took our own shower gel.||||Nasty longlife milk in the fridge, not very generous with tea/coffee selection. ||||Curtains didn't go all the way to the top of the windows so orange street light came in all night.||||Some areas of this room need a good tidy up ... will post photos. ||||Price was average, $145 for a...

They are basic, not what you’d get in an upmarket hotel for example, but it is good value for money and a good taste of proper kiwiana.||To top it off for the kids there is an awesome playground a 30 second walk away. This caters for kids of all ages, even the ‘big’ kids.||My only complaint is not with the hotel but the truck drivers that ignore the ‘no engine brakes’ sign at 3am in the morning.||Would recommend Paeroa motel if you are passing and need a night to get...
