Stopped off here on our way to Auckland & wow what a lovely surprise. One of the few places that know how to make a proper Iced Chocolate that isn't swimming with ice & actually has real whipped cream on top. The chocolate flavouring is spot on & not the thick dark brown syrupyy flavouring that many other places smother their Iced Chocolates with that is overpowering & sickly. The food was fairly priced & delicious too. Just a word of advise to customers sitting in the courtyard on colder days... There are chair pads to place on your metal chair situated in a box as you walk into the Courtyard which I suggest you use as the metal chairs as quite a shock to sit on without these pads. Unfortunately my husband & I didn't see these pads until half way through our meal, well & truly after our rear ends had been assaulted with these iceblocks masquerading as chairs 🥶😂. All that aside though we'd 100% recommend the Courtyard Cafe & Delicatessen to anyone stopping off in Paeroa to check out the iconic L&P bottle or even if you're only intending on driving through. It's well worth...

We stopped off at The Refinery first as we were driving through Paeroa on holuday, but we decided the menu didn't suit us so we the proceeded to "The Courtyard Cafe & Delicatessen" . We were so glad we did. The staff were friendly & helpful & the food was delicious. We sat out the back in Courtyard which was delightful but I'd suggest using the chair pads provided in the Winter as we didn't see them untill we sat down on the metal chairs 🥶 lol. The coffee was beautiful & my iced chocolate was made as an iced chocolate should be with a large lump of ice cream in the bottom with a swirl of fresh cream on the top. Perfect. Well done...

We were travelling through Paeroa and decided to stop for a quick pit stop for breakfast. My friend wanted a proper coffee and stopped a passerby to find out where she got hers and were directed to here. The place looked quite nice and cosy and it also had an outdoor area (but it was too cold for that). They had quite a few hot and cold baked goods on offer as well as other items for sale. I had the hot chocolate and the chocolate cupcake. Both were decadent and very chocolatey. The menu above the counter looked quite interesting so would have been a nice place for a proper...

Stopped over in Paeroa on our way to Whitianga. Court Yard Cafe seemed like a neat and clean place to have our breakfast. We ordered sausage rolls from the deli counter and toasted sandwiches off the board menu. Food was good however the service here is atrocious. We are a family of five (2 young children) and because we ordered only 3 main meals, we requested an extra plate, and then requested another extra plate to which we were rudely told that we were already given one. We asked for ketchup which the lady just left on our table without any courtesy. Overall food good, service bad.

Stopped by here for lunch last Saturday. Unlikely no one was welcoming, they looked at us tho. When other people walking in, they did the same. Reckon they only welcome their regular customers. Even when they served, still quiet😑, making us uncomfortable😑. Believe they don't know any magic words. Iced coffee was not overly sweet which was right for me and Cheese &bacon panini was delectable but pumpkin quiche was soggy.

Great food and coffee options in Paeroa's main street. We both had muesli , banana and yoghurt which was a really good breakfast before embarking on a bike ride to through the Karangahake gorge to Waikino. I've also tried treats from the cabinet before and they have been really fresh and delicious.
