Spent 2 days in Hawke’s Bay, needed a place to stay, exceptional accommodation, it’s very clean, staff were very friendly, beautiful art portraits in the lobby and walkways. I’m not an art person but I can appreciate a good image when I see one. Room - clean and tidy, variety of quality snacks and drinks ( we found that the walnut brittle was cheaper in the mini bar than at a market stall) The filter coffee(hawthorn)was so good that we went looking for it. Room has black out curtains so it’s nice and dark,we had the best sleep. Location- excellent location, central to local businesses and a good selection of cafes and restaurants that are walking distance. Parking- while the hotel offers underground secure parking spaces (x3 rows in the basement) there is additional council parking outside, which was handy. For a hotel that’s central it’s so quiet. Highly recommend porters boutique hotel.

Excellent hotel and highly recommended. The room is spacious with all the amenities you will need, charging points conveniently located beside the bed, a nice balcony where we can enjoy the view, and an oversized toilet. It also has a basement carpark, which is very important for us. There is lift access directly from the basement carpark to our room. Security is good, with card access required to enter the basement carpark after 7pm, and card access is also needed to enter the hotel from the basement carpark. Location is excellent, within walking distance from a supermarket, cafes, and various retail stores. The restaurant, Malo, where we had dinner, was also fantastic. Reception staff are friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting us when we walk past them.

Firstly, wow, I didn’t expect this when booking here, the staff are friendly and the rooms sky-rocketed my expectations, the room is cleaned to a perfectionist standards. Decent places to eat outside and a great private parking underground.

We loved this hotel. We booked a 'royal suite' which provides ample room and a great balcony. The hotel also provides complimentary use of washing machines and dryers, much appreciated as we were half way through our trip at this stage so useful to do some small washing. Everything was comfortable and clean and in true NZ style they provide you with proper nice wine glasses to enjoy wine in the room. Complimentary secure underground parking is also available. The location of the hotel cannot be beaten. Within a 2 minute walk you have ample restaurants and cafes to choose from. Walk a further few minutes and you have numerous boutiques, more restaurants and cafes, a cinema, a supermarket, and petrol station. The town was very nice and well positioned for outings to wineries and nature. Hastings is a 12 minute drive away. We loved it so much we were deliberating whether to stay 4 nights instead of the original 3 but had other places to go. 100% highly recommended - thank you for a wonderful stay in your...
