I think the road leading to Marahau is a bit winding, something I did not expect since Marahau's location should be by the sea. But after being there, it was part of the adventure. I suggest that if you will book in Abel Tasman Haven, drive while it is still daylight. I did not notice any lamp posts along the way so it must be a bit disconcerting to drive in the dark. Of all the places we have visited in New Zealand for 3 weeks, the Abel Tasman National Park is my favorite.||||We truly enjoyed our stay in this charming chalet. The owners are very friendly including their dog. I am afraid of dogs but their dog was relaxed, as relaxed and laid back as the owners. Be aware that this chalet is only good for two people.||||We had free wifi, a ref, a small heater, small but very warm bathroom which I really appreciated. Bed was very comfortable. Slept well. From the moment I saw the pictures of this hotel in booking, I feel in love with it. I like to stay in a chalet in a beautiful, rural and remote area. Buy your groceries and drinks in one of the bigger towns before Marahau like Motueka where you can find the big grocery stores like New World and Countdown.||||There is a flashlight in the room which was handy if you come home late after eating dinner at the only restaurant beside the only grocery store in Marahau. ||||Thank you Rose and family. How I wished we could come back, I will stay for more than 2...

Rose showed us the room and informed us about pretty much everything we would need to know when we arrived. ||||The room is very spacious with all necessary amenities including a kitchen. The bathroom was very functional. Outside we had a spacious veranda with a table and chairs. The area was very relax and quiet.||||Rose was able to reserve a water taxi for us for the next day. We were also informed about the restaurants in the area.||||We were able to meet most of the family during our stay (including Bella the dog), and we would be more than happy to stay here again...
Read moreSo close to the start of the Abel Tasman National Park, the beach and a few eateries. Hidden behind with the beautiful surroundings of the valley. The self contained chalet is well maintained with spotlessly clean bathroom, kitchen and bedding. The only downside could be the little fan and monitor-sized TV in the living room, if you are keen to watch TV on a hot night. But that didn’t bother us too much as it was cool at night and we would rather have some time out to the nature rather sitting inside. The enthusiastic owner and the friendly dog would definitely make you...
