Great campground. Really nice and easy atmosphere. It's located directly at the gates of the Abel Tasman National Park. You also can walk from the campsite to the beach. There are several options you can book. Campsites (powered and unpowered)y cabins and lodges. There are three lodges that are self contained and more offside along the road away from the campsites, closer to the beach. Cabins are not self contained and next to the campsites. We had a powered campsite for $39. Stayed 2 days. Checked in after front desk hours, so they leave personalized instructions for you. Which campsites you can choose from and so on, easy to follow. You also get free wifi (250mb for 24 hours.) after that you can buy 10gigs for $5. (which is an ok price) Limited data and buying data-packs must be an NZ-thing as it was the same in other places. Not sure but we feel like buying data these days is a bit outdated. But we had reception anyway, so it did not really matter. There is a large kitchen, movie room and a large outside patio with a fireplace and a food truck. Facilities are clean and functional. There are also coin operated washing mashines. A small change machine would have been nice. The front desk was closed, so we couldn't get coins. Would definitley stay here again. Ideal location and has...
Read moreA recommended must stay! 👌 Such a great spot in the beautiful Marahau, the staff are so friendly super helpful, incredibly accommodating and the options for your stay are plentiful. We stayed in the Creek Studio, a beautiful spot, nice and warm, with a beautiful well pressured shower, nice bathroom, small kitchenette and super super comfy bed.
The Creek House or Beach Bach are also two great looking spots spacious for a couple of people. Loads of on-site powered cabins and spots for the RV or Camping tents.
There's a Yoga Deck, cinema room, warm fire, shared kitchen and lovely facilities thought the site as well as plenty of activities for the kids (volleyball, badminton, football and more). It's a spacious campsite with access directly to the beach and onward to the walks around Abel Tasman.
Place was incredibly affordable and came with so much for what you pay. If your planning a hike around the AT, a little getaway or just looking for somewhere different to stay, then here it is. You won't be...
Read moreWe wanted to stay here for one night with a campervan, ended up staying for 3 nights. Also options to do some glamping here and rent a small cabin. There’s a friendly and international atmosphere, lots of campers here when we stayed (November 2022) and there’s lots of places to relax (hammocks, tables outside with chill music playing, tv-room,…). There’s fully equipped kitchens (1 big one and 1 smaller one) with cutlery/pots available for free and you’re able to cook and eat together with other campers while sitting covered from rain. Showers are great, washing machines available, free hair dryers. There’s enough toilets, but there could be a few more as they were pretty busy when we were there (lots of campers then). There’s a nice restaurant on walking distance for a pretty alright pizza with a great view! Lots of activities nearby to enjoy (kayak, boats to Abel Tasman, beach,…).
In my opinion the best campsite we stayed at during our New-Zeeland round trip. Price is...
