I was in Top Pub last night and today around 2:30 because I just had to come back for another pie. The mince, steak, and lamb shank (pictured) will knock your socks off, if you're passing through Fairlie it is definitely worth a try!

Lamb shanks were very tasty. Roast was ok, but I have had better. Overall, nice dinners at affordable prices.

This pub was life saving. After a long and gruelling 7 hour drive, it felt like walking into Narnia. Having spent an hour wandering aimlessly around Fairlie on ANZAC Day, seeing not a single venue open to buy food (or much needed alcohol), us three young women were on the verge of tears. We begun to walk back to our bach carrying a dinner of Doritos from the Caltex in hand, when we saw an ominous light on a side street… lo and behold, we were welcomed into the warm embrace of the Fairlie pub. They fed us a delicious gourmet spread of fish and chips and a sufficient amount of wine at criminally low prices! The waitress felt like our best friend by the end of the night. Thank you Fairlie Pub for all of your incredible mahi and for your service to three hungry...

This morning we had the unfortunate experience of having breakfast at the Bistro. There were 8 of us and arrived at 8.45. The orders were taken quickly. 40 minutes later 3 warm big breakfasts came out. These breakfasts were finished and 1 hardly cooked toast and 2 poached eggs, one egg was ok the other had raw whites of the egg that couldn't be eaten. One hour later one pancakes arrived which was ok. Another 15 minutes went by after I asked when the other 2 breakfasts were coming and was told 2 minutes, my eggs benedict was terrible, one hard egg and one almost raw egg with a very small amount of hollandaise sauce, the other pancakes could not be eaten as they were barely cooked. We obviously will never go...

Alright place to eat. Fairlie a fairly small town so it’s slim picking for place to go. Think we want to this place by accident. Our hotel recommended another bar up the street and we mistaken it for this place. Place is due for some renovations and life in it, looks a bit scary from a tourist point of view, which probably explains why nobody was there during peak dinner time. Felt like we were out of place. Just a dry environment for a pub. Only staff person there didn’t even greet us. Sort of had to self order and sit down. Food was alright and decent price. General home cook pub food. Overall I’d try another...
