Moonlight Escape Lodge — Hotel in South Island

This is a beautiful, modern lodge set high over the Shotover River only 10 mins drive from Queenstown. The bedrooms are spacious and extremely comfortable with small decks and big views. The large living room is elegant and superbly decorated. It leads out onto a terrace with a barbecue area and a hot tub under the stars. The breakfast is delicious with lots of home made extras. Best of all, Juliet, the host is welcoming, friendly and a delight. Nothing is too much trouble. She even offered to pick up some nearby high quality roast dinner take aways for us. Absolutely stunning view and even better hosts! Juliet and David were passionate and committed to ensuring we had an exceptional stay. Breakfast was fantastic, and the banana bread was the best I have ever had. We ate breakfast in our room and at the shared common table; what an experience with great conversations with fellow travelers and the hosts. The hot tub was amazing and so relaxing. The night sky from the BnB was absolutely stunning. It's a great location close to Queenstown, but away from the chaos, noise, and light.

10/10 would go back in a heartbeat!

Staying at Moonlight Escape Lodge was an absolute delight. The lodge itself is remarkable, from the beautifully curated rooms to the hot tub immersed in the breathtaking scenery above the shotover river, every detail has been carefully thought through. What truly made the experience special were the hosts Juliet & David, who are warm, welcoming and made our stay unforgettable with their genuine kindness and thoughtfulness.
