The review you wish you saw before booking.

The lake views are beautiful and the family is hospitable… but the deception of all the photos is worth mentioning.

Although the room in the house is not bad, it’s a warm small room with a bed. That is it. It is a shared space with up to 8people and a very shared bathroom. Many people in cabins also joined to shower as they could not locate the assigned shower. The space is also loud, worth knowing.

Although everyone can appreciate individual beliefs, the living space is a very specific religion, whilst being more shown as a peaceful yoga retreat, there is a slight feel of a pushed agenda with a massive shrine on the one side of the room and bits around. Whilst some might be indifferent, having strong beliefs of other religions this comes across as the opposite of what I’m sure was the intention of the hosts being welcoming people.

An upgraded backpackers would be a genuine description as you would know what you were walking into and prepared for all it entails. Whilst “homey and welcoming,” honesty speaks volumes and it’s lacking in...

Wow, what a special place. I don't know where to start so firstly just thank you, Ora Retreat will be my home when I go back to Queenstown. If you want a place where you have the serenity of being without too many people. This is the place. Just a short drive to the city centre, a short walk to the lake for a swim. But the views there, you won't go anywhere it's so beautiful and 3 lovely dogs and Tui birds coming to feed. The retreat has everything you would find at home and even more. They let us check in early, the cabins are so beautiful and quiet. The bed was so comfy. Breakfast is available as well and so many different teas! Coffee machine, yoga space & musical instruments. Just wow. Thank you again, what a perfect place for our...

A most incredible place to stay! Kaari was a welcoming host. The puppies were very sweet too. The tui tiny home was great size for two people, very comfortable and the whole bed size heating pad was great. Could definitely be comfortable with 3 in the loft bed. Wifi doesn’t reach the cabin but good service in the main house. Big kitchen to use and incredible views from the back patio. Very calming and secluded. Worth staying a few extra nights. Look what dates you are going as they do events and have special guests such as monks. Felt very safe and comfortable here. Shared bathroom in the main house was very clean. Lots of easy walking trails near by and close to the water. Will definitely be...

Very special memories of having stayed here; many firsts: use of electric blanket, learned to use an espresso machine, dip in the cold water of the lake (along with a few other guests joined the owner in her daily dip). Coming here to just stay in its unique cabins would be missing what the place has to offer. And should I mention warmed toilet seats?! We didn’t want the party nature of Queenstown, so with a car Ora Retreat was perfect (or the bus stops just in front of it). And its owner Carrie…she simply is the icing on the cake…a beautiful person through and through. If I’m ever back in the area (and I do hope to return to NZ) I will definitely stay here again! Our stay was a truly memorable experience! ❤️

Well, what can I say! AMAZING! We travel almost every second weekend and this would be hands down one of our favourite places! The bed was soooo comfy the bungalow was so peaceful. We stayed for 6 days and it felt like our home away from home! Paul you my friend are so awesome. Felt like we made family in you. So chill, so friendly, breakfast was perfect and loved all the great info. If it wasn’t for yuh we wouldn’t have seen half of the amazing things we seen and the tuis was just heaven to wake up to everyday. I could write all day but I want to say thank you, thank you and thank you again and we will absolutely be back again. Until next time our friend! ☺️🥰🙂🤩🥇
