The Lazy Cow Accommodation — Hotel in South Island

Stayed here for 2 nights, the Lazy Cow Backpacker hostel is by far the loveliest and homeliest hostel we've had the pleasure to stay in and I could not recommend it more. It had everything we needed, and even breakfast which we could help ourselves to including cereals, fresh bread, home made spreads and juice. There was also milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits! It was wonderful to sit by the log fire and relax watching TV or films and play games which there were plenty to choose from, even darts! We didn't get to enjoy the outside space much because of weather but that too looked perfect with lots of seating, tables and heaters. Met one of the owners, Phil, who was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We booked direct with the hostel which Phil confimed does make a difference to them so something to keep in mind! Super nice and cozy place!! Hostess really friendly. It's really like a small seperate home (next to the hostess' house and Lazy Cow restaurant) with seperate rooms that are open for booking. We had amazing other people that were there at the same time as us; we ended up watching tv in the living room together and playing cards, with an amazing view of the mountains and valley outside of the window. The next morning we used the clean and very well equipped full with food and utilities to have a nice fully included breakfast, we could take whatever and as much as we wanted. Rooms were slightly on the outdated side, but quite cozy and clean. This all for only 140NZD for 3 people. Truly an amazing experience and more...

My self and a friend stayed overnight at the Lazy Cow. A stop over on our way North. Two Comfortable rooms. We were greeted like friends on our arrival. pLUS TO SHARE, a large equated kitchen, dining room and soft leather chairs , to sink into, for watching the T.V. or movie. we chose to eat in the Restaurant. make sure you book. it is a local favourite. lovely gardens to relax in the Sun.
