Very nice suite with a fabulous view. It is clean, very well appointed and has nice little touches such as cut flowers left on the table and a separate toilet from the shower. It is in an absolutely gorgeous setting up on a hill with about a 250 degree view of the water. The fabulous owners Chester and Deb have owned the place for a year. They are extremely nice and Chester is amazingly helpful. We came out in the morning to be told we had a flat tyre. Chester jacked up our car, removed the wheel, drove it down to the garage. Then brought it back and put it back on for us. Nice guy! He then told us about places to see, bringing us a printout. Then came back to give us a jar of really delicious pesto just made by Deb. This is a great place to stay- the room, the view and the owners.

We spent 3 days based at Manganui as we toured Northland. Fantastic views from our unit not only out to Doubtless Bay but also of the working wharf below. Accommodation was excellent and the host very helpful and talkative. Great options for dinning nearby either via walk down well lit path or short car ride. The meal at Waterfront Cafe & Bar was exceptional. We did most of the Heritage trail which passes right by the Motel which is very interesting. If you are into walking, its an easy walk to the nearby pa site and Coopers beach.

From the moment we rocked up unannounced, expecting to stay 1 night, to when we checked out after 3 nights we had an amazing experience. Hosts were so helpful and accommodating. It was one of the best views we experienced in our travels. We stayed in number 5 on the end and had the most amazing outlook. Everything was clean and comfortable. The town and its people were all friendly. A little gem of a place. Would highly recommend this motel on the hill. Perfect spot to stay as a base when travelling to Cape Regina.

We booked this stop for 1 night on our recent visit to the Northland area of New Zealand and we were sorry we could only spend the 1 night as it was a beautiful location overlooking the bay. Our room was number 6 and was upstairs affording wonderful 360 views. We would love to have stayed for several days to enjoy chilling out here. We will need to return!|The rooms have been refurbished tastefully and are spacious and very clean. The shower was great and the bed very comfortable. The kitchenette had plenty of options for self catering simple meals.|The owners (Deb and Chester) were extremely friendly and welcoming, offering plenty of tips for our trip to Cape Reinga ( which we followed) and we enjoyed a chat later in the evening when we saw them at dinner. There are numerous choices for dinner close by and if you are up for a steep walk back they are in walking distance.|This motel turned out to be one of the hidden gems of our many travels to New Zealand...

Wow. The views are amazing. It's just up the hill looking down over the bay. Every time you look out something has changed. The boats have moved, or the clouds have changed the lighting. Just stunning.

Deb and Gerrard are proud of their beautiful spot in the world and are a great source for recommendations. There's a cafe at the bottom of the hill that does fantastic coffee and amazing slices

Within a 20 min drive there is a whaling station over the bay. Or two hours away the tip of Cape Reinga. Or go south a wee ways and check out Waitangi.

100 percent a great...
