Sunrise Guest House — Hotel in Leon (Municipality)

We stayed there for two nights and it was extremely disappointing. We arrived late and received the wrong room and then the next day we had no running water. The rooms do not have AC and it can get hot. The biggest thing was the staff kept making excuses and felt like they always tried to make it seem like it’s our fault? When really our room was not ready even though the booking was a “request to book” via airbnb. That means the host needs to approve any booking that comes in. It’s ridiculous we had just arrived tired from a long trip and just a huge headache. The staff just felt like teenagers running a place looking for anyone to blame for their shortcomings. I’d avoid completely and definitely attracts a certain crowd that wasn’t for us. Avoid the headache and look elsewhere.

Also, no mosquito nets which is important since windows are open due to lack of AC.

The room conditions are fine and the only reason we remained in contact was because we had NO running water and we wanted the room we booked 😂

I see the blame game is in full swing and yes, we smiled and said everything was fine. After we were asked is everything else ok? Which implies everything else minus the two problems hoping...

Sunrise Guest House is a charming, quiet, comfortable place to stay when you visit León. Katerin, the hostess and proprietor, is absolutely lovely, warm and welcoming, and speaks English 😉She also offers Spanish classes for a very reasonable price 😊 If you're lucky, like I was, you might be able to watch a collaboration of the artist community she's a part of create artworks in the sala. I got to watch them create a stunning sand painting there over the course of a couple days. It's a short walk to El Centro, and right on the main road heading from León to Sutiava and the beach, so buses and taxis are easy to catch, but the rooms are in the back so the nights are quiet. Just an absolutely lovely place to stay.

I had a very pleasant stay at Sunrise Guest House! The room was very big with a private bathroom, and everything was spotlessly clean. There’s also a kitchen and a fridge available, which was very convenient.

The owner is extremely nice, always available, and makes sure guests are well taken care of – I really appreciated that!

The location is a bit outside the city center, so I’d recommend taking a taxi back in the evening.
