We stayed here with our adult daughter in a single room with three beds, Very comfortable and clean. We parked roadside at the entrance to the village. Technically there is parking available in the village next to the reception office but there is no advantage to that, just do the five minute walk. The inn's staff can arrange to assist you carry your bag from the public parking area if required. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The Heritage House is one of several interconnected houses that have been restored to guesthouses in this hillside agricultural village. Your stay includes both dinner and breakfast served on a shaded rooftop terrace. The inn does not have it's own kitchen, rather food is prepared by local households and presented buffet style. Both meals were delicious and provided plenty of variety to accommodate any dietary requirements you may have. Coffee, tea and dates are available in this dining area when meals are not being served. The inn's main proprietor Hamed is passionate about the hospitality provided in his ancestral home. He doubles as a tour operator and can arrange activities to match your interests. Visitors would be remiss not engage Hamed for a guided tour of the village and the terraced gardens and falaj system. The gardens are lush with date palms, banana trees and a large variety of other fruits and vegetables. Hamed does a marvelous job presenting the local history and community life. At the conclusion of the tour you have an option to visit a shop selling a variety of local honey. Free tasting! The one consideration for visitors is accessibility requirements. This is a hillside village - every move you make will require going up or down steps! We had many great experiences in Oman. Without a doubt Misfah Heritage House, Hamed and the local tour was...

Read moreStaying at Misfah Heritage House was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Oman. The guesthouse itself is full of charm—tucked away in the heart of the ancient village of Misfat Al Abriyeen, with stunning views over the lush date plantations.
But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the owner, Hamed. He went out of his way to show us around and share the rich history of the village. In the evening, he sat down with us and spent over an hour telling stories about Oman’s past—especially about the late Sultan Qaboos and how he transformed the country for the better. His passion for preserving and sharing this heritage was evident, and it felt like being welcomed into a piece of living history.
It was a warm, genuine encounter that added so much depth to our visit. I would wholeheartedly recommend Misfah Heritage House to anyone traveling to Oman—not just for its beautiful setting, but for the meaningful connection and insight Hamed offers into this...
