So, you wanna stay in Jabel Al Akhdar? Buckle up, budgeters! Buckle up, I say! Remember those fancy hotels that'd make your wallet cry? Yeah, forget those. This place, my friend, is like the slightly-less-glittery cousin of those gold-plated joints. It's still expensive, sure, but hey, at least you can call and haggle like you're at the souk! Who needs fancy websites anyway, right?
Finding it? Easy peasy. Just follow the main road, it's like the only one there anyway. And when you finally reach this oasis of (relative) affordability, prepare to be charmed by the front desk magician who'll whip you up a better room and breakfast deal faster than you can say "free peanuts!" (Seriously, free peanuts! Who knew luxury came in such bite-sized packages?)
The room itself? Well, it won't win any design awards, but hey, it's clean and has all the essentials. Think of it as a blank canvas for your budget Picasso masterpiece. Plus, free biscuits! Because who doesn't love a good post-haggle biscuit?
Breakfast? Picture this: 4th floor, panoramic mountain views that'll make you forget the slightly-sad toast on your plate. The menu won't win any Michelin stars, but hey, it's enough to fuel your Jebel Al Akhdar adventures. Think of it as breakfast with a view, minus the pretentious waiters.
So, in conclusion, would I recommend this place? If you're a budget-conscious adventurer with a knack for haggling and a love for free peanuts, then buckle up, buttercup! This place is your Jebel Al Akhdar jam. Just remember, bring your own glitter if you need some...
Read moreThis hotel looks newly built. I stayed here for 2 nights. They have plenty of parking and it is walking distance to the sunset view point as well as many restaurants nearby. Rooms are on 3 floors with the 4th floor being the restaurant. They have a kid’s play area outside in the back. Free Wi-Fi is available in the room and was very fast. But I could not get any signal in public areas such as the restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. I highly recommend the Mountain View room. All rooms have a mini fridge and they provide 3 free water bottles. I did not need the A/C because it was cold. The beds were very comfortable and glad they had hot water in the bathroom tap and shower. The food is very average for both breakfast and dinner and they have a very limited option if you are not a meat eater. Dessert on both days consisted of only fruits. It was a bit of a disappointment and the only thing that I was not happy about during my stay. Also, rooms are not soundproof. So you can hear the people in the adjoining...
Read moreThe hotel looks fancy in the pictures, but in reality, you can see that the building is of low quality. The room was not clean. There was dirt on the wall and on the carpet. The bathroom was chalky and used flip flops were lying around. The water heater took forever to get the water warm. Furthermore, it was loud. There was construction noise going on until 9pm and you could hear the elevator from the hallway as well as the neighboring guests every noise, including them cleaning their nose and throat early in the morning. The worst was the food though. Rice and grilled chicken looked and tasted as if they were from the previous day. After leaving the majority of the dinner on the table, we also did not eat breakfast, though it was included in the room rate. The only positive thing was the service, as everyone at the reception and in the restaurant was very nice. Overall can not recommend at all. Go somewhere else, e.g. Sama Hotel. They are about the same price, but have a great view of the...
